Twilight Alchemist 19.1

19.1. We Need To Handle Valuables With Care, Isn't It?

Rumors of massive mithril ore mining and the Cyclops, known as the adventurer killer, quickly spread upon our return to the pioneering village of Golden Dawn.

Around precious ore, monsters easily emerge, making the stable supply of this rare metal challenging.

Though a skilled few could swiftly reach it in battle, the limited number of miners would decrease.

Transportation posed a significant problem; even if barrels were filled with ore, they couldn't be brought deep into the mine with a cart.

As a result, the amount of ore that could be brought back was small.

I later learned from Leafan that it was very rare to be able to mine a large amount of mithril ore in such a situation.

The reasons for this success were: 1. Magic bombs, 2. Sharpness oil, 3. Spatial storage, 4. Reliable escorts, and 5. Leafan's expertise in ore. Acquiring all five was difficult.

Regarding the magic bombs, Leafan decided to keep it a secret.

We asked Raidoc's party members and even warned Jitaro.

I didn't mind either way, but since it was the guild leader's decision, I didn't object.

Kyle, however, needed to be informed.

"Sorry, Leafan-dono! When will you sell mithril!? I'll buy ore or ingots!"

The first to arrive after hearing the rumors was the merchant Akindo.

Among the merchants entering and leaving this village, he was the most astute.

Moreover, he didn't engage in the kind of business that would exploit us.

He was the type of man you could do business with for the long term.

I had ordered alchemical books from him, and despite being a peddler, his ability to obtain valuable books was impressive.

"Wait, wait! Nothing's decided yet! Besides, Kyle-sama's permission is required for ore trading!"

"Oh! I'm sorry! But when you get permission, let me know!"

"Hey, Akindo! Don't jump the gun! Be sure to come to our trading company at that time!"

"More importantly, trade with me!"

"Ahahaha!"

Ignoring the chaotic scene with Leafan, I headed towards Kyle.

Watching the commotion from the mansion's window, Kyle has a troubled smile.

"Welcome back, Craft-san."

"Yeah. As you can see, Leafan might be a bit late."

"Hahaha..."

Kyle's twin sister, Myrna, approached noisily and took a seat next to me. It was usually Leafan's seat.

There was no assigned seating, so it wasn't a problem, but was it okay not to sit next to Kyle?

I couldn't voice it, so I just glanced at Myrna, but for some reason, she turned and looked away with a huff.

Incomprehensible.
