Chapter 241.1. Collaboration

After various twists and turns, Gerald-san and Myarla's relationship dramatically improved. 

The scene returns to the situation where we encountered a horde of ghouls and Jack O'Lanterns in a swampy clearing in the forest.

"Myarla, we'll take care of those undead!"

"Yes, sir!"

The two holy knights synchronized their breath and charged toward four ghouls. 

One, wearing chainmail and wielding a sword and shield, followed an orthodox combat style. 

The other wore light chest armor over clothes, equipped with claw-like weapons, emphasizing agility.

The Ghouls attacked the two knights. 

The one at the forefront aimed its sharp claws at Gerald-san.

But...

"Not a chance! [Double Slash]!"

"One more hit, meow!"

Gerald-san's two-strike attack landed on the ghoul.

Myarla swiftly passed by his side, flashing her claws at another ghoul. 

The one not defeated by Gerald-san's attack succumbed to Myarla's strike, turning into a magic stone.

"Myarla, don't get too far ahead! I'll take the vanguard!"

"I got it-nya! I'll support you-nya! [Gaia Heal]!"

Myarla quickly defeated the leading ghoul, then hopped backward. 

Before the remaining 3 Ghouls could engage her, she returned to Gerald-san's rear.

"Alright, leave it to me! With Myarla's support, these ghouls are nothing!"

However, even with Myarla's healing magic, Gerald-san couldn't block all the attacks. 

The paralysis claws of the Ghouls hit him, tearing the chainmail and causing damage.

Despite the ghoul's strength, Gerald-san's level 25 body only suffered about ten percent HP loss from a single hit. 

Yet, the accumulating paralysis effect slowed him down.

"Myarla will protect Gerald-san-nya! [Gaia Heal]!"

Myarla, positioned as the rear guard, provided support with magic, simultaneously healing HP damage and paralysis. 

With Myarla's healing magic, Gerald returned to full health.

"Thanks! ...Ha!"

Seizing the opportunity during the monster's vulnerability, Gerald-san struck again with a sword slash. 

The ghoul that had already taken significant damage from the previous [Double Slash] vanished, turning into a magic stone.

Their cooperation was flawless, and facing the remaining two ghouls seemed like a matter of time.

As for us, we decided to focus on our tasks.

"Kazane-san, let's deal with the {umpkins!"

"Yeah, Daichi-kun!"

Kazane-san and I rushed towards our enemies. 

Our target is 3 giant pumpkin-headed Jack O'Lanterns floating in the night.

All 3 Jack O'Lanterns emitted a red shine, indicating the preparation for magic activation. 

Although the distance was a bit far, their magic would activate sooner than if Kazane-san and I engaged in melee combat.

"Don't forget about me! Freeze them, Fenrir Arrow!"

Simultaneously with Yuzuki's voice, an arrow with a blue-white tail pierced the space between Kazane-san and me, penetrating the middle Jack O'Lanterns. 

Upon direct hit, the pumpkin blossomed into an ice pillar, turned into black mist, and dropped a magic stone.

"Got one! Nice shot, Yuzuki!"

The satisfaction in Yuzuki's voice was evident. 

I had a feeling the Jack O'Lanterns would go down in one hit, considering they were relatively powerful monsters. 

Well, their weakness to ice attribute attacks explained it.

Setting that aside, the remaining 2 Jack O'Lanterns needed attention.

Kazane-san, being swift on his feet, closed in with only a few steps left...

At that moment, the magic attacks from the 2 Pumpkins activated a bit earlier than expected.

One launched a spear of flames at Kazane-san, while the other used explosive flame magic, engulfing both Kazane-san and me in flames simultaneously.
