Chapter 241.2. Collaboration

""Guuh...""

There was, of course, damage.

Especially Kazane-san, who had taken both the Flame Spear and Explosive Flame simultaneously, seemed to have suffered considerable damage.

To reiterate, Jack O'Lantern was a powerful monster, even challenging an ordinary Holy Knight in a one-on-one fight.

But, King Eldrick's assessment of our capabilities.

That led him to assign us this mission, which was accurate.

"At this level—Yaaaah!"

Kazane-san, seemingly unaffected by the damage, leaped onto one of the Jack O'Lanterns and unleashed a rapid series of attacks with her twin short swords.

Kazane-san cut the Jack O'Lantern diagonally in the center of its pumpkin face.

It released a significant amount of black mist from the injured area.

It was evident that it had suffered major damage.

Kazane-san promptly jumped back after the assault, creating an opening for me, her partner, to rush in.

"Now—[Triple Thrust]!"

My right hand radiated the glow of skill as I thrust my spear three times at high speed.

It was likely a significant overkill.

The Jack O'Lantern couldn't withstand the assault and dispersed into black mist, dropping a magic stone.

The maximum HP of the Jack O'Lantern is 230.

On the other hand, my spear attacks, depending on the opponent, had recently been dealing around 70 points of damage with a single hit.

Even without aiming for a critical hit, my [Triple Thrust] alone might have been enough for an instant kill.

But there was no need to take unnecessary risks.

"This is game over! Fenrir Arrow!"

We had a powerhouse with overwhelming firepower.

The second ice arrow fired by Yuzuki easily scattered the remaining Jack O'Lanterns into mist, transforming it into a magic stone.

...Man, Yuzuki's performance is seriously amazing.

Now, with that done, the 3 Jack O'Lanterns were swiftly taken care of.

Then I'm turning our attention to the other battlefield.

One of the remaining two Ghouls had just been defeated.

Gerald-san and Myarla were now double-teaming the last Ghoul.

Watching, it didn't take long for the final ghoul to be vanquished.

"All right!"

"We did it, meow!"

The two holy knights celebrated with joy.

However, they quickly turned their vigilant gazes toward us.

Then, showed a stunned expression.

"What...!? Did you guys just annihilate all 3 Jack O'Lanterns in this short time!? I knew Daichi-kun and the others' exceptional strength, but..."

"Hahaha... as expected, the three of them are monsters. It's like having 3 Captain Benedicts..."

It seemed they intended to assist us.

But the situation was already resolved when they looked our way.

Gerald-san looked defeated, and Myarla, with a half-smile, watched us.

So, we successfully eliminated all the monsters in the clearing in the forest.

With that, a notification popped up—Mission Complete.

Ah...

Come to think of it, I forgot about adjusting the experience points again.

Well, I don't feel the need to be so obsessed with leveling up.

Considering everyone gets experience from mission accomplishments.

Also, since the special mission's completion judgment came through, it seems like we're done with the subjugation task.

It's weird how meta-information seeps in.

Afterward, just to be sure, we explored the surroundings.

But there were no more encounters with monsters.

With the achievements of our monster subjugation in hand, we returned to the royal capital.
