3. Skill [Necromancer] Reaches Second Stage
“What… I’ve gotten way stronger, haven’t I?”
I couldn’t quite grasp what these numbers actually meant in terms of strength.
But the original numbers should represent my physical abilities and magical power.
And those stats should be about the same as an average high school student (except for the magic, of course).
So… after the boost, these numbers were pretty insane.
Does this mean I’ve gained superhuman abilities?
“And there’s an additional skills section. [Slash] and [Shield]...?”
“Those are my skills.”
Mirage answered.
“Huh?”
“It seems that not only have you added part of your servant’s power to your stats, but you can also use some of their skills.”
Mirage explained.
“However, I have more skills than just [Slash] and [Shield], so it looks like you can only use a portion of them.”
“I see.”
Still, this was incredible.
Honestly, I was getting really hyped up.
I’ve gotten stronger—
I was simply happy.
That said, I shouldn’t get overconfident.
“I should probably test my own combat abilities for future reference.”
I pulled a knife out of my pocket.
It was my only weapon.
“If it gets bad, I’ll need your backup, Mirage.”
“Understood.”
Mirage raised its sword, ready.
“If I judge the situation to be dangerous, I’ll intervene immediately.”
So reliable.
I squared off against the beetle-like monster, the Dungeon Worm.
Some of its higher-level variants had extremely hard shells that could resist swords, but a regular Dungeon Worm moved slowly and should be easy enough to kill with a knife.
Normally, with my stamina, it’d be a close fight—
But now that I’d powered up, maybe I could pull this off.
Let’s do this—
I gripped the knife and inched forward.
Vwoom.
The Dungeon Worm’s eyes shifted from blue to red.
It had recognized me as an enemy.
Alright, time to fight.
I closed the distance even more.
The Dungeon Worm also slowly advanced.
I timed it carefully, then sprinted.
The plan was to get behind it and strike with the knife.
But—
“Huh? I’m so light!?”
I’d noticed I felt lighter since my skills had been unlocked, but the feeling intensified as soon as I started running.
In a flash, I outpaced the Dungeon Worm at a speed that would shock an Olympic athlete.
I got behind it and—
“[Slash]!”
I activated the skill and struck with the knife.
Screeee!
The Dungeon Worm let out a small cry before collapsing, dead.
I had defeated it surprisingly easily.
Guess that means I’ve really gotten stronger.
