Chapter 3. About The World

Two years have passed since my reincarnation.

I started walking at around 10 months old, which helped with my research.

I could have started earlier with crawling, but someone was always nearby,

so whenever I tried to crawl away, I was quickly caught, limiting my freedom of movement.

First, this world is very similar to my original world... Which I'll call modern Earth, as God said.

The shape of the world and its geography are almost the same.

The difference is that the Japanese archipelago is connected to one continent, with Hokkaido, Shikoku, and Kyushu joined together.

The Okinawa Islands, Awaji Island, Sado Island, and the Gotou Islands are not connected.

Also, the part corresponding to Hokkaido is partially connected to the Eurasian continent.

There might be other differences, but I, a Japanese person, don’t remember the details of other countries’ geographies well.

I only remember Japan at a common-sense level.

Next, about the language. I had expected this since I understood my parents' conversations right after I was born, but Japanese seems to be the world’s standard language. The characters in books are also Japanese. Some English words are mixed in, making it very similar to modern Earth's Japanese. That's a great help. It's incomprehensible why English words are mixed in even though Japanese is the base and there are no other languages.

Next, about species.

First, I investigated the demon race. After all, it's about me.

Demon race, a general term for demon clans, beastmen clans, etc., with many species that live longer than humans.

Many are excellent in combat and are warlike, but judging from my parents and the servants, they don’t seem to be evil beings.

Rather, many are gentle. Although the demon race and human race had long been at war, the war ended 300 years ago, and now they interact.

However, in some regions and countries, the demon race is still oppressed and persecuted. Conversely, in some areas of demon race countries, humans are oppressed.

Both of my parents are from the demon race. My father is a demon, and my mother is a succubus.

Given that, it would be odd if I weren’t part of the demon race, but my race is a fallen angel.

It seems strange, but it appears to be common among the demon race in this world.

For instance, a cat person may be born between a werewolf and a dog person, or a dwarf between a demon and a beastman.

I feel like questioning the genetic system intensely. Nandeyanen.

Apparently, due to the long history and mixing of various races' blood,

most demons have inherited the blood of all demon races, but it still seems strange.

Incidentally, a child born between a human and a demon is always a half-demon.

Next, about the human race.

The most populous species in this world. They can reproduce with most other races.

They are almost identical to modern Earth's humans.

Like modern Earth, there are white people, black people, and brown-skinned people. Lifespan is also about the same.

Next, about the elf race.

Species like elves, high elves, and dark elves.

They live longer than humans, stay young longer, and excel in magic.

They can reproduce with some demons.

They don't particularly conflict with any species but lean more towards humans.

Next, the dwarf race.

Their image is almost the same as dwarves from modern Earth stories.

They are long-lived and love alcohol. They are skillful and excel in blacksmithing and craftsmanship.

They interact with all races. Many dwarves live and work in various countries.

Next, the fairy race.

Species like sylphs and dryads.

They live in places with abundant nature such as forests, mountains, seas, and lakes.

Inevitably, they find it hard to live in cities.

They have a close relationship with the nature-loving elf race.

Lastly, the god race.

Little is known about the god race.

Angels certainly exist, but they don't seem to involve themselves much in the world.

They have appeared a few times during the long history of wars between demons and humans, but their whereabouts are unknown.

As someone reincarnated by a god, I can't shake the feeling that the god race in this world is just another race rather than gods.

They might have strong powers, but they seem different from the concept of gods on modern Earth.

It would be nice if we could get along, but I feel it’s better not to get involved.

There are also magical beasts and phantom beasts, which are different from races.

Probably, magical beasts are the monsters God mentioned.

Magical beasts are dangerous entities with magical powers and special abilities, unlike normal animals.

Some can communicate and be tamed, but they are fundamentally enemies of all races.

Monsters like goblins, orcs, and dragons from modern Earth's manga and games also exist.

Phantom beasts can be dangerous, but they can generally communicate.

Many are harmless as long as they aren’t harmed first.

Among phantom beasts, those with particularly strong power are called divine beasts and require caution when confronting.

There are unicorns, pegasi, etc.

Friendly and gentle dragons are considered phantom beasts.

So, there really are dragons.

I’d like to meet one someday.

Though, meeting a dragon classified as a magical beast would be scary.
