Introverted Archer 69

Test

69. Rational Trap Technique!

As I proclaim, a thunder twice as large as before approaches. Like a monster from mythology, the three-headed thunder spirals.

"Among those who have come into this space, not a single one has defeated me! Whether human or a floor boss!"

So, this person has defeated a golem-class monster alone. This is something even pros wouldn't ignore.

But it's still not rational.

"It seems you lack confidence. There's no need to use skills excessively."

There's no need to spread so many thunders. If you're going to do it, it's more rational to end it with a single blow, more smartly.

Because of using skills excessively, Shiranui takes time to activate. In that case, I need to take my time to prepare my attack.

"<Rational One>"

A blow that took plenty of time. The overwhelming firepower arrows and swirling thunders clash fiercely at the center of the space.

At the point where the two forces mix, energy contracts. It's like a black hole.

Energy gathers, increasing in density. Then, at a moment, it expands rapidly and explodes.

"Ugh...!"

Overwhelmed by the power, Shiranui braces himself. However, he's been blown away by the wind and slammed into an invisible wall in the space.

"It seems you've attacked me with just one blow... But not yet!"

"No, it's checkmate."

Shiranui leans against the wall. That situation itself signifies my victory.

Because what's looming before Shiranui right now is—

"Damn, is he shooting arrows again!"

When my five arrows hit Shiranui's five bodies, they push his body against the wall.

"Ugh!"

Shiranui can't evade due to the [Sure Hit] effect. And what's approaching him again after being attacked—

"Again!?"

Again, five arrows. They slam his body against the wall once more.

"You're persistent! With such trashy attacks—"

"Oops, no time for talking, right?"

The arrows I shoot continuously assault Shiranui. They hit him when he tried to stand up, not giving him any rest.

"I can't believe... this!"

"Yes. This is the technique I've always wanted to do—named 'Rational Trap Technique'!"

When I was in elementary school, I played a little fighting game.

Among several characters, the one I lost the most was a foreign baseball player character, 'Tom'.

He mainly fights swinging his bat, but what caught my attention more was the ball he throws.

The ball doesn't do much damage. But when it hits, it can blow away the enemy's body. If you do this at certain times, the enemy can't get up and keeps hitting the wall.

I didn't know that this was called a 'trap technique'.

Besides, this tactic didn't last long. Tom's shoulders were weak, or the ball's speed was slow, and skilled players would easily dodge it in the first place.

But, I got bored with that game and never met Tom again. But it remained within me.

To inherit Tom's will—a rational, genuine trap technique that I wanted to try.

My arrows can't be dodged due to the [Sure Hit] effect. No matter how you counter, they hit the same and keep hitting the wall.

And the culmination of this repetition is—

"This is ridiculous...!!"

Shiranui has already been hit by nearly 100 arrows and can no longer stand up. He's quite enraged. But he's out of breath, and his body is already showing signs of reaching its limit.

"Earlier, you mentioned why Archer is weak, right? I generally agree. Archer is a job with too many quirks for both oneself and others to handle."

Even though Shiranui keeps receiving arrows continuously, he tries to stand up again and again. However, each time he's rolled by the arrows, and finally, he can only glare up at me.

"That doesn't mean Archer is weak for everyone. With conditions like blessings, there's a chance to become the strongest. Your downfall is dismissing the weak without consideration and not thinking things through."

"Da-damn it all!"

The moment Shiranui shouted, his body got covered by a semicircular barrier. It's a defensive reaction from the watch he has.

"It seems like my victory."

I look at my watch on my wrist. The score totals 5875 points.

Simultaneously, a fissure appears in the space created by Shiranui, and light shines through it. A few seconds later, the fissure that appeared on the ceiling expands rapidly, revealing the original forest.

"Eimu-kun!"

"Kageyama-kun!"

I hear Hina and Fuyuka's voices. They seemed surprised for a while, but when I showed them the numbers on the watch, they seemed to understand the situation.

Now, my job is done. It's up to the others to figure things out somehow.

"Alright, transfer."

As I operate the watch, the points decrease rapidly until only '1' is displayed.

And the points I had—

"Eh, me!?"

Were transferred to Fuyuka's watch.

"There are still 30 minutes left until the end. If Fuyuka manages to defend the points until then, the blue team will win."

"You can't suddenly expect me to do that! I have to—run away..."

"It seems like not everyone thinks that way?"

I point to where the remaining members of the blue team have gathered. The atmosphere is different from when it started, and they're glaring at the red-team students.

"We might actually be able to win!"

"And the one holding the points is the strongest white mage in history!"

"We must protect that freshman at all costs!"

This is what a true buff is. Someone who can raise morale just by being there is valuable.

"Now... I think I'll take a walk after a long time."

I like the smell of the forest. It's incomparable to the cheap scent of bath salts. It feels somewhat soothing.

After taking a deep breath, I enjoy the feeling of stepping on the soft soil.

The sports festival is all settled—.

By the way, Fuyuka and Hina fought with their friends from the blue team and managed to win. It seems they made a lot of friends. Happy ending.
