Musou Slime 50

Test

50. Human And Slime

"Here, this is your sword."

Exiting the shop, Raize guided me to the front of the house.

What she handed me was undeniably my own sword.

"Thank you! I was worried I'd lost it..."

"...Well, if it's important, you should take better care of it."

Good, now I won't incur Irina's wrath. Raize truly is something.

Putting the sword back on my waist, I looked towards Raize and realized she was staring at me for some reason.

"What are you looking at?"

"It's nothing! Just thought you looked weird!"

She crossed her arms and turned away with a pout. It's become a regular gesture by now.

"...Thank you, too."

"Raize?"

"I'm expressing my gratitude! You've always helped me. I couldn't say it before, but it wouldn't be fair if I didn't."

Raize muttered while facing away.

At times like these, her habit of turning away to hide embarrassment, and even blushing to her ears, I've somehow gotten used to.

"I was really happy when you helped me. I thought I was on the wrong path. But Arx affirmed my path. So, thank you."

She's just not straightforward, but she's a good person.

"Yeah, count on me from now on."

"W-What do you mean!?"

"As a comrade, but is there something else?"

"I don't know!"

Saying so, we walked into the town. I still can't figure out when Raize'll get angry.

"Hey, by the way, is the issue with the house settled?"

"It feels like a temporary fix. But the fundamental solution isn't there yet. Nobles are creatures like that."

"I see. Then let's go back to the dungeon when it's resolved!"

"You're still an adventure maniac. Can't you settle down?"

I can't. I've decided to become stronger.

To become stronger and protect what's important. To let Noah see the outside world. There's so much to do.

"Well, just wait a moment. I'll show you my newfound strength."

"Newfound strength?"

"Prepare to be amazed. I've reached level 13. Defeating undead monsters in the graveyard must have helped!"

Defeating monsters in the graveyard, leveling up...?

Come to think of it, what's my level? I've been quite active too.

Opening my status, I felt breathless.

"Level... 35!!"

"Huh!? What does that mean!? Explain!"

Raize grabbed my shoulders and shook me. I'm also not catching up.

For now, I decided to explain what happened at that critical moment. And also about <Human>.

After hearing the whole story, Rize sighed deeply.

"You're truly broken, aren't you?"

"Is that a compliment?"

"A big one. It's unbelievable for a human to have 2 skills..."

Raize sighed heavily again.

"...But well, I'll believe you. After what happened, and above all, because it's Alcus."

I don't know what she means, but let's not delve into it too deeply. At least she seems satisfied.

"Hey, Raize. How strong am I now?"

"You can probably rank among the top in this town. Having 2 skills is already too strong. And the real power of that <Human> skill is still unknown. It could even hold up in the S-ranks."

I see. I've become quite strong.

But I'm still just at the top of the town. There's always someone stronger.

"...Alright, I'm feeling motivated. Shall we go to the dungeon now?"

"You're still recovering from your illness, so go back to the hospital."

"Then should I send the slimes to the dungeon? I'll leave command to Chia!"

"Listen to me, you adventure maniac!"

Slimes are weak. I once lamented my own incompetence and cursed my fate.

But looking at it differently, it meant there was room for growth, and I became strong. I gained comrades.

On the road ahead, I'll stumble many times.

But let's stand up with my comrades each time. That's the strength of human and slime.
