Chapter 318.1. Mii-chan Is A Good Girl

-Miu's POV-

"The fal-se ac-cu-sa-tion wo-n't la-st long."

Currently, Mii-chan is in trouble. She has been falsely accused of collaborating with the evil organization Nidhogg, and her inn is under siege.

Even though Mii-chan pretends to be part of Nidhogg, she has never actually worked with them!

So, good girl Mii-chan peeks out of the inn's window, waving her tiny hand in protest.

"Countess Takano, we'll hear your explanation later. Please disarm and surrender!"

"No! Mii-chan has to stay absolutely quiet and hide under her blanket. I'll get to eat peach cans!"

The leader of the rebel forces tries to persuade her, but she won't fall into that trap. Throughout history, those who surrendered to rebel forces never fared well.

The conversation between the exhausted Mii-chan and the leader has been at a standstill, with no progress in sight.

That has frustrated the leaders, but they haven't launched an attack. They've surrounded the inn but haven't made any attempts to attack.

In other words, Mii-chan is in quite a predicament.

"Why aren't they attacking?"

She tilts her head in confusion while peering out of the window at the rebel forces.

Tanks, armored vehicles, soldiers in magical armor suits, and military magical equipment are all present, and the siege is complete. There's no sign of holding back. Isn't this strange?

"Hmm... they must want us to make the first move. They'll use our preemptive attack as evidence of guilt."

[Under normal circumstances, yes.]

This last part is from Grandpa Odin, sent as a thought.

[If they think like the young lady, it's a plausible scenario.]

I see. But in that case, will the Emperor survive? Mii-chan hesitates before her eyes are suddenly drawn to the window once more.

That's an unpleasant quest. Sena seems to have survived, but the chances of the Emperor and others surviving based on this text seem slim.

I've seen the Emperor's fate in the anime. He boards the Sky Castle and gets killed by Duke Kanna. Then, his Sacred Artefact is taken, and Duke Kanna seizes his power.

It's in the last few episodes. Afterward, Shin gathers the remaining nobles with Sena and her harem corps for the final battle.

That's the precursor to the final battle. This event seems similar, but the sense of unease lingers.

"Mii-chan, leave this to your papa and the others. Misunderstandings can be resolved through dialogue."

A kind-hearted dad offers a very charming suggestion. She understands, she understands. Mii-chan also thinks that they'll understand if we talk.

"No, it won't work, Houretsu. This is Duke Kanna's scheme. If we stay holed up here, Duke Kanna, who has revolted and killed His Majesty the Emperor, will capture and accuse us of unfounded crimes."

Grandpa Kazamichi answered, who had a sharp look and an overall stern appearance.

"Houretsu-san, I share the same opinion. Negotiation won't work. It's a tough call whether to stay here until the Emperor defeats the rebel forces or to break through the encirclement and go to the Emperor's aid..."

"Ugh, is there no other way... But we can't take on a military force, can we?" 

Aburage dad says with a troubled expression, siding with Grandpa Kazamichi. Papa sighs, opposing a frontal assault due to the overwhelming difference in strength.

Indeed, the difference in power is substantial. 

Mii-chan and her group are much stronger. We can easily crush humans by cutting down weeds, probably in less than a minute.

However, the problem lies in the quest's conditions. 'Must not reveal God power', it says. That's means Mii-chan can't fight. Even if she's not bound by the quest, she can't show her God power. 

That's because mama holds her tightly. Facing mama's worried expression, she can't suddenly massacre an entire army. 

Mii-chan couldn't hold back like a game character. That's troublesome.

I had prepared the Cock-a-doodle-do Army for situations like this, but I'm already used to it.

If papa and mama were to witness Good Kid Mii-chan committing mass murder without any guilt, it might drive them insane. She can't take actions that would destroy their happy family.

"Duke Kanna's movements are likely well-calculated. Therefore, it should be impossible for the Emperor to escape from here alive."

"It will take a while before the surrounding warriors and the military notice this commotion. Right now, they've moved a large number of troops to the crash site of the Sky Castle."

Ranko-san provides an explanation following Grandoa Odin's words. In that case, staying holed up here doesn't seem like a good idea.

I scan the room: papa and mama, Grandpa Kazamichi, Aburage dad, Tamamo, Ranko-san, and the trio of Poyorin, Guu-chan, and Pomeranian sleeping comfortably in the middle of the futon, showing its belly and happily stretching its legs. Occasional twitches in her legs are the only traces of her wild side, a cute little puppy with no signs of being a fragment of a wild animal.

Nimue, Matsu, and Gamon are waiting at the inn's interception point and are not here. Kongou-oneesan and old man Martini's Party are on alert outside the room.

There doesn't seem to be a decisive strategy. At the very least, if they would just launch an attack, I could summon Poyorin and Guu-chan to deal with it.

If summoned beasts were to go wild, it might not be too shocking. The army would most likely get wiped out for sure.

"Hey, hey, Em-chan? Is Yamiyo-chan okay?"
