Test
60. My Classmates Showered Me with Praise
"That was amazing!"
Hazuki rushed over to me.
"What was that? Your servant monsters are impressive, but you're powerful yourself, Shigure!"
She spoke with excitement.
It was true—I was surprised at the increase in my own combat ability.
I knew my stats had more than tripled, but this was my first time testing it in such a large-scale battle.
The result? I was stronger than I had ever imagined.
Perhaps as strong as, or even stronger than, my servants.
"That was incredible, Shigure."
"How are you this strong? Were you always this powerful...?"
"Thanks to you, we didn’t even have to lift a finger."
"To be honest, I was a little scared about coming here. But thanks to you, it was a total cakewalk."
The other members of the group all praised me in unison.
Their feelings seemed to be a mix of joy and amazement at how easy the battle had been.
It was an unexpectedly one-sided victory for me as well.
"Even mid-level demons might not be a threat anymore."
Back when I fought the Blood Claw, it hadn’t been so effortless.
But now, things were different.
Not only had I grown stronger, but my servants were also becoming more formidable.
And with this battle, I’d be gaining even more pieces to my army.
I decided to turn the mid-level and low-level demons I’d defeated into servants.
—Or so I thought.
[You can only have up to 5 Level 3 undead, 10 Level 2 undead, and 30 Level 1 undead as your servants at one time. Additionally, if you take a Level 2 or higher undead as a servant, you cannot take Level 1 undead.]
Huh, this was the first time I’d seen this message.
Was this a rule all along?
Or had my skill evolved, adding new restrictions?
After digging a bit deeper, I learned that Level 3 corresponded to mid-level demons, Level 1 to low-level demons, and Level 2 was something in between.
For me, strong pieces were the priority.
This meant that this time, I’d focus on Level 3.
That naturally ruled out taking any low-level demons as servants.
The rule, ‘If you take a Level 2 or higher undead, you cannot take Level 1 undead’, applied here.
"Alright, I’ll choose the strongest-looking mid-level demons to make into servants."
After careful selection, I added the following four to my ranks:
Two Death Warriors: Armored demon warriors.
One Twin Lizard: A two-headed lizard warrior.
One Metal Shielder: A defensive warrior equipped with a massive shield.
All of them were warrior types, which would greatly strengthen my front lines.
"Perfect, this will significantly boost our forces."
I was quite pleased with myself.
"Alright, let’s head back to the castle."
"What? We’re done already?"
Hazuki looked puzzled.
"Well, we’ve wiped out the enemy, haven’t we?"
"Oh... uh, yeah, I guess so... hahaha."
She gave a nervous laugh.
The other classmates had similar reactions.
They still seemed dazed, unable to fully believe in this overwhelming victory.
To be honest, even I was astonished at my newfound abilities.
