Necromancer 41

Test

41. The Battle with Ran Concludes, and Then

"Y-You... damn...!"

Ran reaches out his hand toward me.

Apparently, his skill is called [Execution].

I don’t know the full details, but it seems to be a human-targeting, lethal skill, just as its name suggests.

In fact, there are rumors that Ran has killed many people in this world at his own whims.

I've heard such whispers several times.

If we weren't heroes from another world, we would have long been punished or imprisoned.

Judging from Ran’s earlier strike, his skill likely involves 'attacking by gouging out the area around the target.'

I wasn’t eager to test if my [Shield] could block it or not.

Fortunately, by carefully watching his gaze and movements, it didn’t seem too difficult to dodge his attacks.

Evading while rendering him powerless with my counterattacks――. While constructing this basic plan in my head, I closed the distance with Ran.

"D-Damn it, Shigure, of all people――"

Woosh!

With a blast-like sound, 'something' came flying toward me.

It was probably an invisible shockwave.

With my superhuman stats, I could sense the vibrating air and dodge accordingly without any problems.

"Too slow!"

I evaded his skill attack with a sideways leap and closed the gap once more. Then, I delivered a punch straight to his solar plexus.

"Gu... ha..."

Ran crumpled to the ground.

His eyes rolled back as he twitched, convulsing.

Looks like he’s out cold.

"Whew..."

I exhaled deeply.

"Restrain him while you can."

I called out to those around me.

"If he goes berserk again, we might suffer many casualties."

"Um, but..."

"Capturing a hero is..."

There were several dozen soldiers at the training ground, but all of them hesitated. Well, from their position, that’s understandable...

"Alright then, I’ll borrow some rope."

The training ground was equipped with weapons and tools for restraint.

I fetched some and tied Ran up.

Since he launched his skill by thrusting out his right hand, if he couldn't assume that posture, he wouldn’t be able to use [Execution]. Binding his arms to prevent it was a logical move.

[[The [Reaper] has become an undead. Do you wish to make it your servant?]]

Suddenly, a message appeared.

Wait, could this mean――.

I turned my gaze toward the arena.

The 'Reaper' Mirage defeated with its ultimate move――.

It slowly rose and glided through the air until it was right in front of me.

No way... Can I really make this thing my servant?
