35. Kenzaki vs. Ran, a Fierce Conclusion
Slash!
A flash of silver light.
A spray of red blood bursts forth.
Thud...
The sound of something heavy hitting the ground.
"Gu-gyaaaaaaaaah...!"
A scream echoes through the air.
"Ahh..."
I let out a groan without thinking.
The battle between Kenzaki and Ran—its outcome...
"Is that all your trump card's got, Kenzaki?"
Ran sneers.
Right before his eyes, Kenzaki crumbles to the ground.
"Uuuuu..."
His arms, severed from the elbows down.
The 'Reaper' standing by Ran had swung its scythe, slicing them clean off.
Even Kenzaki, moving at full speed, was overtaken by that devastating slash.
"Surrender. Get a healer to fix you up. Maybe they can still reattach them."
Ran laughs.
But to slice off both arms within this field, protected by a defensive barrier...
The Reaper's attack power is extraordinary.
It’s undoubtedly stronger than my own servants—Mirage, Swordsman, or Red Mage.
"Ughhh..."
Kenzaki keeps glaring fiercely at Ran, until he finally collapses face-first.
It seems he’s lost consciousness.
"Tch, I'll give you that—you didn't surrender till the end. You endured the pain and kept your pride."
Ran snorts.
"Now then. Kenzaki was the strongest on their side, right? Time to take care of the rest of these weaklings."
Ran begins walking forward.
"H-hiiiiiiii!"
The knights in Kenzaki’s army scatter in panic.
"Don't kill us! Please, don't kill us!"
Seeing Kenzaki’s arms cut off, they must think, We could be next.
After all, heroes get away with most crimes, and killing during training probably isn’t punishable.
Besides, there are dark rumors that Ran has killed unrelated people on a whim, yet no one’s ever heard of him facing any consequences.
"Come on, what kind of knights are afraid of death? Isn’t it your job to fight with your lives on the line?"
Ran sneers.
"Go, Reaper."
He gives the order to the servant beside him—fittingly called Reaper.
Whirr!
From under its black hood, red eyes gleam.
The Reaper floats through the air, attacking the fleeing knights.
Slash, slash!
Each swing of its scythe sends multiple heads flying.
A massacre—.
"Stop!"
I can’t take it anymore and leap into action.
"Mirage, Swordsman, Red Mage, come out!"
I summon all my servants.
I can’t stand by any longer.
I will put an end to Ran's atrocities—.
