24. Kenzaki, Humiliated 1 (Classmate's Perspective)
SIDE: Kenzaki
Shigure's skill is called [Necromancer], and it allows him to make undead monsters his servants.
It seems that the only ones he can control are the weakest, most inferior undead. In other words, it's a worthless skill that only commands trash monsters—
That's how Kenzaki evaluated Shigure's skill.
(And yet, what the hell are these things…!?)
Now, standing before Kenzaki, Shigure has three undead monsters under his control.
Two of them are in the form of knights, and one is in the form of a magician.
Among them, the "Silver Knight" surpasses the physical abilities of Kenzaki, who has [Beast Transformation], and manages to land a hit on him.
Although the damage from that hit is immediately healed by his [Super-Speed Regeneration] & [Healing Ability], a product of his [Beast Transformation], the "Blue Knight" and the "Red Magician" launch long-range attacks right after, without giving him a moment to recover.
Dozens of magic swords and several balls of fire are fired in his direction. There are too many to dodge or block.
"Guaaahhhhhhh…!"
Sliced by swords, scorched by flames, and before the damage can heal with his super-speed regeneration, he's sliced and scorched again.
"D-dammit…!"
Kenzaki groaned in frustration.
"—With three powerful servants, it seems my tactics have more versatility than I thought."
Shigure murmured dispassionately while observing the scene.
He wasn’t "fighting" Kenzaki. It was as if he was merely testing his own abilities.
"Acting so smug…"
That attitude irritated him.
Kill— The murderous intent in Kenzaki intensified.
If this were modern Japan, no matter how much anger or hatred you harbored toward someone, it wouldn’t escalate into an intent to kill.
If it did, you'd be arrested for murder. But in this other world, things are different.
As a "Hero," Kenzaki and his comrades are granted many privileges.
One of those privileges is "never being imprisoned."
To the people of this other world, heroes are the trump card to save their world.
They want the heroes to act in their favor, even if they occasionally break the rules—the king himself had declared this publicly.
Of course, if Kenzaki actually killed his opponent, who is also a hero, there might be some punishment... but imprisonment or execution wouldn’t happen.
To lose even a single hero would shake the world's fate itself.
"I can kill you without a worry, Shigure…!"
Boom, boom…!
Kenzaki's muscles swelled all over his body.
He was about to draw out the overwhelming physical abilities of a beastman and launch a limit-breaking attack—
This was Kenzaki’s trump card.
With this, he could dodge the enemy’s attacks and land a direct hit on Shigure.
"Oooooooooh!"
Kenzaki roared.
The roar whipped through the air, creating shockwaves.
—Most of his classmates probably think Kenzaki's skill is just a "shockwave." Unleashing the roar of his [Beast Transformation] as a sonic pressure shockwave—that was the true nature of this technique.
It was a move he could use even in his human form without transforming.
The power was weaker in human form, but—
In contrast, during [Beast Transformation], this skill was at its full potential. And now, with his transformation limiter fully removed, the sonic pressure shockwave had reached its maximum power—
"[Shield]!"
At that moment, Shigure shouted.
Voom!
An energy shield appeared in front of him. Additionally, the Silver Knight also conjured a similar shield, creating a double layer that deflected Kenzaki’s sonic pressure.
"What the—!?"
Kenzaki wasn’t surprised that the undead could use skills, but Shigure using the same skill as well—?
"What are you…?"
"It's over, Kenzaki."
Shigure said coldly.
"With me and these guys— a fourfold attack."
A chill ran down Kenzaki's spine.
At that moment, he truly felt fear.
Fear toward Shigure, whom he had always looked down on.
And that, to him, was an unbearably humiliating feeling.
