Necromancer 23

Test

23. [Beast Transformation]

“You... you bastard... Shigure, of all people... damn you!”

Kenzaki charged at me once more.

“Hero Skill—[Beast Transformation]!”

Thud, thud, thud...

Kenzaki’s body began to swell in various places. His clothes burst apart, and his skin hardened like armor, covering his entire body.

In an instant, his form drastically changed.

A beastman with the head of a rhinoceros. I thought his skill was ‘Shockwave,’ but was I wrong?

The ability to transform into a beastman—this is Kenzaki’s true skill...!?

“You’ve underestimated me... this time, I won’t stop at just half-killing you. I’m going to kill you—”

“...Are you sure about that?”

I quietly asked.

“Huh?”

“You said you were going to kill me. By saying that, you’ve also agreed that I can respond in kind without any complaints.”

“What... did you say?”

“I’ll kill you too.”

Honestly, I didn’t mean it.

It was just a threat.

I don’t want to kill anyone.

I have no idea how serious Kenzaki is about killing me. But unlike in Japan, killing here might be tolerated.

Kenzaki could very well be serious about trying to kill me. If that’s the case, I have no choice but to act accordingly.

I can’t just stand here and let myself be killed.

...That being said, let’s analyze the situation.

From his current appearance, it’s clear he possesses strength beyond that of a human in close combat. But that’s not all.

I’ve seen him use a skill resembling a shockwave before. Which means he can likely harness the abilities of a beastman to produce shockwaves.

A skill with both immense close and long-range attack power...

Even though I’ve gained stats comparable to top-tier knights and warriors, this situation looks grim for me.

“If you’re using your skill, then I’ll use mine—Mirage!”

I summoned my servant.

A black silhouette rose up from the shadow at my feet. It was my undead servant, ‘Illusion Knight Mirage,’ who usually waits in a separate dimension, disguised as my shadow.

“What... what is that thing...”

Kenzaki was shocked.

“Swordsman, Red Mage, come out as well.”

I summoned my other companions without hesitation.

A silver knight appeared in front, with a blue knight and a red mage in the rear. And I stood in the center.

“Heh, having numbers won’t help you—worthless scum!”

Kenzaki roared as he charged at us.

Slash!

Mirage’s sword flashed, cutting across Kenzaki’s chest.

“Guh...”

Kenzaki staggered back.

It was a pretty deep wound, but it healed almost immediately. An insanely fast healing and regeneration ability, huh?

“Swordsman, Red Mage.”

I ordered the two in the rear.

“Fire at will.”

Bang bang bang bang bang!

The Swordsman unleashed a barrage of magic swords, and the Red Mage launched flames. They both attacked relentlessly.

“Gaaaaaahhhh!”

There was no escape—an overwhelming, saturating assault.

Sliced by countless swords, and burned by flames, Kenzaki let out a howl of agony...
