Chapter 350. Daichi’s Strategy

──Side: Musou Daichi──

“I believe we can win this. The three of us will take down the seven on the left and the five in front, so I need the rest of you to handle the four on the right.”

““...Huh?””

Reguld and Adela, the leaders of the other two parties, responded in disbelief.

Well, that’s to be expected.

They don’t know we’ve surpassed our limits, so their reaction makes sense.

I regret not telling them from the start, but it’s too late now.

It was a judgment call at the time, and it’s hard to say it was wrong.

Let’s backtrack a bit.

Kazane, who possesses [Presence Detection], alerted us to the approach of sixteen monsters.

Seven from the left, five from the front, and four from the right.

When we realized it was a group of Owlbears, the adventurers in the other two parties started to panic.

They began discussing the possibility of retreating.

But we were different.

We were considering how to protect the caravan and merchants while wiping out the monster horde without sustaining any damage.

Initially, I thought about handling the seven on the left alone, while Kazane and Yuzuki took care of the others.

I have high defense and can heal myself with magic if needed.

I have the highest endurance among the three, and with [Triple Strike] and the power of my divine spear, my offensive capabilities are nothing to scoff at.

I figured Kazane and Yuzuki could handle groups of five and four respectively, especially with cooperation from the other parties.

But when I shared this plan, they weren’t on board.

They questioned whether it was wise for me to face the seven on the left alone.

I was confident, but even after I told them, they seemed worried.

They were concerned about me.

So, I decided to adjust my plan.

I suggested the other two adventurer parties, Wild Fang and Crimson Axe, handle the four on the right together.

If one A-rank party can deal with two Owlbears, then two parties should be able to handle four. It’s a simple calculation.

There might be challenges with impromptu teamwork, but since the two parties seemed to get along well, I figured they wouldn’t mind as long as we took care of the twelve on the left and in front.

I would still handle the seven on the left.

Kazane and Yumizuki would deal with the five in front, then come assist me afterward.

I told them that if they were worried about me, they should quickly defeat the ones in front and come help.

Reluctantly, they agreed.

The Owlbear horde was closing in, so we didn’t have time to argue.

With our plan in place, we informed the other parties.

And that’s when Reguld and Adela responded with disbelief.

It was as if they were saying, “What are you talking about?” like a fighter taunting in a promo video.

But there was no time to explain.

I had to be brief and let our actions speak for themselves.

“We’ve surpassed our limits, and all three of us are over level 50. Kazane, Yuzuki, I’m counting on you for the front.”

“Got it. Daichi-kun, don’t push yourself too hard until we can back you up.”

“Yeah, Senpai. We don’t think it’s cool when you try to do everything by yourself.”

“I got it. Just don’t overdo it yourselves.”

With that, the three of us kicked off the ground and ran towards our respective targets.

I headed to the left, while Kazane and Yumizuki moved to the front.

“L-Limit break?! Over level 50?!”

“So fast...?! That girl’s movements are insane! Reguld, do we trust them and follow?”

“Yeah, no turning back now!”

I could hear Reguld and the others behind me.

I trusted they’d handle their side well.

As I entered the forest on the left, I quickly encountered my targets.

A group of seven Owlbears.

Massive, bear-like creatures, charging on all fours.

We’d make contact in seconds.

Their sheer presence was overwhelming.

The combined mass of those seven must be dozens of times my own.

But the power I wield isn’t determined by size.

It’s a strong light hidden within a small vessel.

I stopped, focusing my mind to activate my magic.

I didn’t enlarge the glyph; instead, I sent it up into the trees.

As I activated my inner magic, the Owlbears were nearly upon me.

Just as their sharp claws were about to strike, I unleashed the spell I’d prepared.

“[Protection]!”

A barrier of magical defense enveloped my entire body.

Immediately after, the claws of several Owlbears came crashing down on me simultaneously.
