Chapter 26. Let's Build A School 3
I am currently in Darmdatt with Ai.
There was a communication using a magic tool asking me to bring Ai.
Father Aslad said it was about the school.
"Oh, you've come. Ai, Jun."
"Long time no see. Both of you."
As soon as we arrive in Darmdatt, Gaul-sama and Alize-neesan welcome us.
No, there's also a boy behind Alize-neesan.
"I'm back, Papa, Mama."
"Long time no see. Is that the Sieg-kun you mentioned before?"
"Yes. Sieg, greet your sister and brother-in-law."
"Hello."
Sieg-kun greets in a small voice and quickly hides behind Alize-neesan.
Is he scared or just shy?
Well, being able to greet at two years old is quite something.
"He’s a shy one, isn't he?"
"Indeed... He's a boy, so I wish he’d be more energetic and mischievous."
"Well, he's only two. He’ll change with the right education."
I hope he doesn't become a battle maniac like these two.
I only think this in my heart because I can’t say it out loud.
"So, what brings us here today?"
"Oh, I heard you can use high-level healing magic now."
"Yes, kind of."
"We have gathered severely ill patients, our soldiers, servants, and their families in the great hall. Heal them first."
"Oh, okay. Understood."
I move to the great hall, separate the injured and the sick, and cast healing magic.
Having healed many patients in my own country, I’m now used to activating healing magic.
I easily heal the people in the great hall.
"Wow, that’s amazing. I heard from Aslad."
"Indeed. Great job, Jun."
"No, I’m used to it now."
After finishing the treatment, I return to the drawing room.
It seems the conversation isn’t over yet.
"Sorry for making you work. We had a lot of severely ill patients we couldn’t treat."
"No problem. So, what's the continuation of the conversation?"
"Oh, I heard you’re building a school? Also training healing magic users?"
"Yes. It’s our first attempt, so we’re still feeling our way."
"I see. Is it going well?"
"So far, yes. At first, those with healing magic aptitude couldn't even use low-level magic, but now they can."
"How many people?"
"All fifty can use low-level healing magic. One person succeeded in casting mid-level healing magic."
"What? That's incredible!"
Though it’s only been two months since we started the training, someone succeeded in casting mid-level healing magic.
The successful one is the youngest, a half-elf named Nicol.
He seems to have a lot of talent for magic, probably because of his elven blood.
"Our goal is to master high-level magic, so there’s still a long way to go."
"No, I heard it's only been about two months since training started? And already someone has mastered mid-level? That's remarkable. You have a genius for teaching."
Please stop calling me a genius.
It's just my experience as a teacher in my previous life.
"So, I feel bad for adding more work to your busy schedule."
"What is it?"
"We want to do the same thing you’re doing with your school and healing magic training in our country. We want to send people with healing magic aptitude and bureaucrats to learn how to set up a school. Take them back and train them. We’ll cover the costs. They’ll follow your orders. Train them well."
"I see, understood. I'll do my best."
"Good, let’s have them introduced. Bring them in."
"Yes, sir."
The butler, who had been standing by, goes to fetch the trainees and bureaucrats, and soon returns with them.
They were probably waiting in the next room.
There are ten people in total.
A representative steps forward to greet me.
"Nice to meet you, Jun-sama. I am Kuon, a trainee in healing magic starting today under your guidance. I will be representing the ten people from Darmdatt. If there’s anything about these people, please let me know."
Kuon-san seems to be a half-dark elf.
Long white hair, purple eyes, brown skin, and an outstanding figure.
She’s quite beautiful.
"Nice to meet you, Kuon-san."
"No need for honorifics, Jun-sama. Nice to meet you."
"Kuon is the vice-captain of our Magic Knight Order. She can use a sword to some extent. You can use her as a guard."
"What? Is it okay to make someone of such a high position a trainee?"
"It's fine. It's her wish. She has the aptitude."
According to Gaul-sama, Kuon-san wants to eliminate the persecution of half-breeds like herself in Darmdatt. She honed her magic skills to become the vice-captain of the Magic Knight Order. She believes that if she, a half-breed, becomes a healing magician and heals people, the persecution of half-breeds will surely end.
"I will endure any harsh training for that purpose. Please take care of me, Jun-sama."
"I understand. I will do my best to meet the expectations of someone with such a noble aspiration."
After finishing the tasks in Darmdatt, we return to Elmbarn via teleportation.
We came as two, but returned as twelve, so we teleport in two rounds.
I still can’t teleport more than ten people over long distances.
Though my parents are spreading it, the fact that Darmdatt is also focusing on healing magic training and school suggests that next, we might go to Fremrila.
I hope things don’t get weird.
