Chapter 16. Consultation
"Onii-chan, do you have a moment?"
Yuu said as she entered the room, wanting to talk about something.
Since she wanted to speak privately, I had Noella and the other maids leave.
"Actually..."
Yuu began, revealing a conversation with a god from before our reincarnation.
"So that's how it was..."
"Yeah. I'm sorry for keeping it a secret until now."
"No, it's fine. I understand why you and the god didn't tell me."
"Thank you, Onii-chan."
"Sure... So? Did something happen that made you want to talk about it? Any strange occurrences?"
"No, not really."
"Really? Nothing at all?"
"Yeah, nothing. But when we toured the royal capital the other day, remember how we talked about adventurers?"
Adventurers. The concept is almost the same here as in Japanese anime, manga, and games.
There are adventurer guilds in each country, with ranks from F to A and S, with S being the highest.
Adventurers ranked A and above are valuable, guaranteed certain statuses, and can easily enter other countries.
Their work includes slaying magical beasts, exploring ruins, and guarding merchants.
Honestly, it's quite appealing.
Traveling around the world sounds fun too.
"Yeah, and?"
"I thought of this: even if something strange happens somewhere in the world, we can't just rush there easily. After all, we're the demon prince and princess of this country."
"That's true."
"So, I think becoming adventurers and raising our ranks would make it easier to travel to other countries. We'd gain combat experience and earn money too. By being adventurers, we could correct any anomalies in the world and defeat villains, bringing justice. A demon prince's way of setting things right."
"Who's the Shogun here? But I get it. Aren't you scared though? Fighting magical beasts or the lackey gods?"
"Of course I'm scared, but I have you. And if the world might end, we can't just sit idly by, right? You feel the same way, don't you?"
"Yeah, I do."
I can't just sit by if this world, where my sister exists, is in danger.
"But we don't know anything for now. We can register as adventurers when we turn twelve, so until then, let's work on getting stronger."
"So, for now, we'll continue as usual."
"Right. We need to train in magic and build our stamina. And spend lots of time together!"
"Sure, sure. You're so cute, Yu."
"Boo~. That's not heartfelt."
She's always been like this.
It's comforting.
"So? Is there anything else we should prepare?"
"Well... Until I can become an adventurer and travel to other countries, I should earn money and get good equipment. Dad and the others could provide money, but I don't want to rely on them for everything."
"True. They might give us something extravagant."
"Though something extravagant might be just right for facing gods. But it's not just about us. We need more than just the two of us, especially when dealing with gods or even for regular adventuring. Noella and Sebastian can come, but not Sebastien."
"Finding allies, then. Trustworthy and strong ones."
"Exactly. Oh, and let's try to gather as many girls as we can."
"Huh? Why?"
"That's part of my plan... Ahem. As adventurers, we'll be staying together, and having too many guys around would make a cute girl like me feel uneasy, right?"
She has a point, but...
"Are you hiding something?"
"N-no, I'm not hiding anything."
She's obviously suspicious, but oh well.
Yuu wouldn't do anything bad.
"So, the next issue is how to earn money. Any ideas?"
"I'll keep submitting clothing designs to Sylvie's shop for idea fees. You could come up with magic tool ideas for Stefania to make. I can help with enchanting, but if we get too serious about it, we won't have time for anything else."
"True. Our main goal is to be happy. Nothing might happen anyway. Let's take it easy."
"Yeah!"
And so, our consultation about how to achieve happiness was concluded.
