Chapter 308. Mirror Of Truth

We defeated the Mummy Lord, who seemed to be the boss enemy of this dungeon.

The damage we suffered in battle, such as bad statuses, was severe.

The Curse of Decay and other curses inflicted during the battle somewhat got lifted upon defeating the Mummy Lord, who was the source. The Deadly Poison got neutralized by Kazane and me drinking Antidote Potions.

However, there's still Paralysis and damage to HP to deal with.

Using [Gaia Heal] to heal HP and remove Paralysis simultaneously would be ideal, but almost everyone is affected by Paralysis.

Only Yuzuki suffered no damage among the five of us and one animal.

My junior mage even managed to repel the Mummy Lord's Binding Gaze, which surprised me, but that still leaves 4 of us affected.

[Gaia Heal] is quite taxing, costing 7 MP per use.

Applying it to four of us and one entity totals 35 MP. That's quite heavy.

Well, since it seems the dungeon is ended, and 35 points isn't too bad, I guess it's fine, but...

Still, maybe I should conserve some MP here, just in case we need it during battle.

Using the single skill point I saved, I learned a new skill.

Afterward, I gathered everyone, including myself, in one place.

[Area Gaia Heal]!

A circular area enveloping all of us emerged from the ground, radiating healing magic.

That removed everyone's Paralysis and healed the HP damage Kazane and I had suffered.

"Amazing..."

"This... shows that a Hero can do anything."

Queen Lulu and Nasel-san were in awe of everyone's Paralysis getting lifted simultaneously.

"I can't do everything. I can only do what I can do."

"Senpai, copying isn't cool, you know?"

"Shut it!"

I rejected the junior's retort.

It's because [Gaia Heal] is versatile; it automatically applies to everyone. It's slightly different!

Putting that aside. The post-battle recovery is complete.

When we defeated the Mummy Lord, the door at the back of the hall had already opened.

We passed through the opened door and continued forward.

Beyond the door was a small room.

In the middle of the room was a single treasure chest, and behind it, the shimmer of a teleportation magic circle rose.

Kazane used her skill to check the treasure chest for traps and confirmed it was safe before cautiously opening it.

"This must be the Mirror of Truth."

Kazane pulled out a hand mirror from the treasure chest.

It had a shape resembling an elongated spatula, exuding an aged yet faint glow that seemed somewhat divine.

Kazane handed the mirror to Queen Lulu.

The Queen took the mirror with her tanned skin, and soon tears welled up in her eyes.

"Father...!"

Queen Lulu hugged the mirror tightly.

Behind her, Nasser-san extended his arms to embrace Queen Lulu, but seeing her refusal, he scratched his head in an "I knew it." manner, a gesture I didn't miss.

"Lulu-chi, mind if I appraise this with [Item Appraisal]?"

"Ah... yes, please."

Wiping her tears, Queen Lulu handed the mirror to Yuzuki.

Yuzuki used [Item Appraisal] on it.

"I've got the result. The item name is indeed Mirror of Truth. Its effect... oh wow, it's scary. What's with this effect?"

"Huh? Is it some strange effect?"

"Let me read it out loud. 'When you hold this mirror and strongly desire its effect. The mirror will radiate a strong light. Afterward, when the owner reflects their own image in the mirror and speaks a truth, anyone who hears it will believe it to be true. After using this effect once, the mirror shatters. This truth-convincing effect will apply to anyone who hears the same words spoken by the user.'"

Yikes... that's terrifying...

I thought so, but as Yuzuki read the item's effect aloud, Kazane tilted her head in confusion.

"Why is that scary? It makes truth believable, so isn't it a good effect?"

"Even so, it's a mind-altering effect. If this effect is real, it's like forcibly rewriting someone's mind. Then, it'd spread like a contagious disease."

"Ah... now that you put it that way, it is kind of scary."

"But in our current situation, we may need to rely on such things. Isn't that right, Queen Lulu?"

Nasser-san spoke up.

Queen Lulu nodded firmly.

"Yes. I must completely wash away the suspicions and stains cast upon me. Let's return to our city, Radaja."

With determined expressions led by Queen Lulu, we stepped into the teleportation magic circle.
