Earth Dungeon 130.1

Test

Chapter 130.1. Nullification

Sakimori opened his eyes and stood energetically from the sofa, clicking his tongue.

"Something killed me with a powerful blow. What the hell was that?"

A red beam flew, and he turned into ashes effortlessly. The intensity was high, yet it happened so easily.

[It's a blaster. Incinerated by ultra-high heat. Or rather, turned you into ashes instantly.]

Shizuku, who had shared the view of the previous attack, casually informed us of the enemy's weapon. So, that's a blaster.

[Nasty weapon, huh? Good thing we have the shadow warrior.]

It's a doll I occasionally use. At level 4, it can move quite smoothly now. I sent it to explore the [Abyss]. Shizuku advised against it.

But it died effortlessly. With that heat, even an old man would have turned into ashes.

"Hey, Sakimori, the power's out again?"

We're currently in a room near the entrance to the underground building. While sitting in a chair, I was controlling the shadow warrior. Masamune and the others were waiting for the results, but as soon as the power got restored, it went out again, causing them to frown. No surprise after the false hope.

"Did you mention crystal zombies or something? We couldn't see them even through the shadows, and our attacks didn't work?"

"Huh? No, if it's an automatic rifle, you can easily defeat them, and there's no way they're invisible. But their numbers increase as you go underground, and they get stronger. Oh, and the arena didn't work."

"You could've told us that before we went."

"Well, things were chaotic. Sorry. But we can only use the arena a few times, so it's not a big deal, right?"

True. The arena can only be used a few times, and since we're defeating them with automatic rifles, it shouldn't be a problem. Masamune, with a skeptical expression, seems to be telling the truth. Then, it only nullifies skills. Bullets still work.

[Probably only skills are nullified. In that case, you'll have to defeat them with simple physical attacks. Oh, and bullets should still work.]

[So, it's like, use desks and fight the shadow tigers. Automatic rifles work, and if it's not through skills, crystal zombies can be seen. So, they didn't care even if they noticed.]

[Even if they noticed, they didn't consider it a problem. If you put something in between, you can inflict damage. Plus, internal skills shouldn't get nullified. Both the shadow warrior and the shadow tiger were skill conglomerates, so they mostly got nullified.]

I see. In that case...

"[Are mana and combat energy used for skills also canceled? Well, it means covering weapons or the body with combat energy or mana won't work. Just hit them physically.]"

[It's the nemesis of magic users. Magic relies on the power of skills. I defeated the crystal golem with a hammer that would break easily.]

I ponder over Shizuku's current words. Only skills are nullified? Nullified if passed through skills? Hmmm?

"How was it? Should we go stealth?"

"Do they climb up? There's no stampede. Just stay vigilant at the entrance."

"Can we borrow the gasoline from the jeep? Is there gasoline in the trunk next to the bed? Refuel the truck and bring the soldiers."

"Yeah, go ahead. I'll put it on the invoice."

"Go easy on us. Well then, I'll be going."

We'll refrain from diving since there's a high chance that Masamune and the others will also die. Even at Gun level 5, I could understand why this place wasn't taken over. Blasters have terrifying power.

Soma and Nanbu had found the gasoline in my jeep, so we decided to sell it. I'll study the amount in advance.

The two run off, and the former researcher or child looks anxious, wandering around. I've left them alone quite a bit. I'll leave them alone for now. It's troublesome.

More importantly, skill nullification is dangerous. I need to think about it.

[Shizuku, I want to try something.]

[Something you want to try?]

[Yeah, skill nullification... Physical and magical nullification is done through combat energy or mana. Isn't skill nullification strange? What's it based on?]

Combat energy, mana? If that's the case, we can counter nullification with greater power. Now, about skill nullification.

[It should be determined by the specifications.]

[The dungeon is evidence that it's manipulating humanity, isn't it?]

To put it in an analogy, it's like game characters can't beat the game master. The fact that internal combat energy, mana, and skills can't be nullified means we're different from game characters. Even if the game master tries to control our power by hitting commands, we can bounce back with our will.

We can give and manipulate the environment, but that's it. So, if that's the case.

[Let's give it a try. I'll try becoming a researcher too.]

[You've come up with something? Alright, I'm looking forward to it.]

Excitedly, with sparkling eyes, the cute girl leans forward, showing a sly grin.

"Masamune, try attacking again. If it doesn't work, give up on the power. A blaster is wandering around there. If it sweeps with a beam, you'll turn into ashes."

"Did Mogami turn into a zombie? In that case, I want to buy kerosene from your company."

"It's not selling well. Well then, let's give it a try."

Shouldering my bag, I leave the room. Let's attack the underground again.
