Chapter 196. [GeoGuessar]

After my wounds from the robbery incident had healed.

While savoring the relief I could talk without the pain in my cheeks, I was live streaming.

"[My words to you!] I am the translator girl, Iroha!"

>Iroharo~!

>Iroharo~!

>Congratulations, Iroha-chan, on your appointment as Goodwill Ambassador!

It should have been just officially announced a little while ago.

However, numerous congratulatory messages were already flowing in the comments section.

"Everyone's quick with information~. Today's livestream was actually intended as a promotion for that. So, I, [Translator Girl Iroha], now [Goodwill Ambassador Iroha]!"

Saying that I displayed an image for promotion.

I never expected things to turn out like this...

>Do Goodwill Ambassadors promote Japanese tourism?

>That's the role of Tourism Ambassadors

>So, are they going to establish friendship with some country? (U.S.)

"In my case, it's not a specific country but rather the United Nations."

>By the way, it seems you're the world's first VTuber to become a Goodwill Ambassador (U.S.)

>The title of a Nobel Prize winner is truly not just for show

>Being virtual allows you to do various things without having to go to the actual location

"Yeah, it's like that. However, there seem to be various circumstances like communication and appearances. It looks like I might end up visiting various countries. Not right away, though—it's more of a future thing."

By the way, being a goodwill ambassador is purely about 'cooperation'.

It's not a job, so naturally, it's unpaid.

Well, I don't really mind not getting paid.

But this would reduce the time I spend watching streams!

Due to scheduling, I might even miss VTuber events!

Honestly, despite it being an honor, I considered declining.

But there's also the matter of the robber, and above all, the face of Angu Ogu's mother, who would likely be behind it, flashed in my mind.

"So, after being chosen as a goodwill ambassador, I thought about it. Regardless of the language, I don't know much about the countries themselves."

Since coming to America, I've been reminded of that.

Visiting countries in the current state wouldn't be great.

...For that reason, I ended up tasked with a project by Ah-nee.

No, it's not like I reported being chosen as a tourism ambassador for that reason!?

>Indeed, Iroha-chan seems to have some knowledge bias

>If you're going to visit various countries, it might be good to grasp the atmosphere at least in advance

>But, won't you only truly understand it once you actually go there? (U.S.)

"Does everyone remember? Even if it's virtual, you can experience it without actually going! So, with that in mind,"

I switch to the streaming screen with a triumphant 'Ta-da!'.

Then, a landscape from somewhere that seemed foreign was being shown.

"Today, I want to play GeoGuessar here!"

It's a map game using Googlo Maps.

The rules are quite simple: just guess where the location displayed in Street View is.

"Although the famous rule is to measure time and score based on the distance between your current location and the pinned point on the map, there are several other ways to play."

While saying this, I manipulated the game screen.

There, the words "Country Streaks" are displayed.

"This time, we'll play by these rules. Identify the country shown... it's a so-called [Guess the Country] game. Well, I don't have much confidence in it either."

Well, it's probably faster to show than explain.

I immediately press the play button.

"So, let the game begin!"

Where on earth is this?

What appeared was a road that seemed to cut through nature and a few cars running here and there.

That's it.

>Isn't this unclear?

>Probably, I got it

>Really???

"Wow, someone already figured it out? That's amazing!"

>How on earth did you identify it?

>Well, there are patterns to some extent

>Is it by looking at things like car license plates or the color of the soil?

"I can't imitate that. Indeed, I need a bit more information. Oh, I got it!"

>!?!?!?

>Eh, Iroha-chan, you already got it!?

>I don't know how you figured it out.

As I looked around on Street View, a sign came into view.

Naturally, there were characters written on it.

"Um, let's see. This is Iceland, right? Because these are Icelandic characters."

While saying this, I make my guess.

The result was... correct.

>Finding the characters and identifying them was too quick! www

>Could it be that once you find the characters, you can instantly figure it out?

>The judgment of the signs is faster than even I, who prides myself on being a programming expert.

"Heh, really! So this is what Iceland looks like! Wow, it's incredibly rich in nature!"

I shouted to divert the conversation.

Uh-oh, I was completely off guard.

Could it be that in this project... my language-cheating abilities are working more than I imagined!?
