Chapter 107.2. Fairy Battle

In front of Shizuku, Frokis appeared and targeted the breaking point of its opponent. It seemed like a light blow, but Frokis expected the enemy to be frozen and shattered due to the mana composition.

It smirked and laughed, but the next moment, it wore an expression of surprise.

Even though it had definitely hit the breaking point, it had no effect. The breaking point disappeared, but its effects did not reach the girl.

[Guh! W-Why is that?]

Jumping backward significantly, Frokis shouted while keeping its distance. Shizuku, observing this, briefly changed her cold expression to a somewhat sad one, but quickly returned to her original demeanor as she spoke.

"[One Point]. It's a technique that crushes the breaking point of the enemy. However, even an ordinary person might accidentally hit the breaking point. You know, the kind of situation where you poke your lover's chest with your index finger and tease them? But no one gets torn apart by that. Yet, why can you destroy with a hit to the breaking point?"

Slowly speaking, the girl made Frokis gulp. In disbelief, it looked at Shizuku, and she calmly continued.

"I'm just manipulating the composition of mana. I intervene with my mana in the place where mana intertwines and concentrates, destroying it. In other words, if you can handle mana, you can change the composition as much as you want, and even eliminate the breaking point itself."

[I-It's impossible for someone to do such a thing!]

Its instinct understood, but reason shouted that it was impossible.

"Once, you stopped using the fatally weak skill [One Point] and trained in martial arts instead... but it seems you've forgotten."

Frōisu while trembling, understood that Shizuku's words were true. The evidence was the disappearance of the breaking point. Mana flowing within Shizuku did not create a breaking point. Just like a river that flows without converging. With this, it was impossible to destroy the enemy's body with [Snow Bee].

"[Ugh! Then, I have no choice but to defeat you with martial arts!]"

Chastising his trembling voice, Frokis raised its fists before its chest, preparing itself. However, as it did so, Shizuku shook her head and muttered.

"This is a team battle. It's over, Frokis-chan."

Before it could question her, Frokis leaped away. A jet-black spear suddenly flew in from where he was standing, piercing the ground.

[What's this? When did—!]

Turning around, he saw a man standing there. Unnoticed, he appeared like a grim reaper, emanating an ominous aura with sharp, knife-like eyes.

[Firestorm]

Uttering words filled with mana, the man swung his arm. At that moment, a massive flame containing abundant mana erupted from beneath Frokis's feet, threatening to engulf it.

[Useless! [Snow Bee]!]

Pressing its index finger against the breaking point of the fiery storm, the magic instantly vanished. Unlike a body capable of manipulating flowing mana, magic, once cast, couldn't change its composition.

Unexpectedly, a magician was lying in wait, but Frokis quickly regained its composure and sneered.

[Mass Flame Lance]

This time, the man shot a lance of high-temperature flames that shone like lava.

[Snow Powder]

Using the disruptive magic [Snow Powder] again, Frokis attempted to dodge the trajectory of the enemy's spear. However, as the trajectory shifted and the spear flew off course, it immediately felt a surge of power in its legs.

Thunk.

Its body got pierced.

A massive hole opened up, and Frokis stood there, astonished, as its body was gradually incinerated by intense flames.

[Wh-Why is this happening? Why didn't [Snow Powder] work?]

"Ah~, sorry about that. My partner explained your abilities in detail, so I changed the mana composition to neutralize the jammer."

The man shrugged his shoulders, awkwardly apologizing. As Frokis was left dumbfounded by this unexpected turn, it turned its gaze towards Shizuku.

[So, you never intended to fight Frokis-chan seriously from the beginning...]

While battling, the man explained Frokis's skill aloud and demonstrated its abilities by attacking himself. Frokis realized it was all done to convey this information to her comrades.

"That's correct. I intended to conquer this dungeon as a team. Since when did you think I would fight solo? Konoha should be defeating the Snow Slime with Kou's help soon. Frokis-chan is strong. It will take time to defeat you, and I can't guarantee that I'll win."

With an unapologetic and carefree expression, Shizuku revealed her true intentions. Frokis couldn't help but burst into laughter.

[As usual... you sneaky person... but it was splendid... It may not be a good fight... but that's why... it had to be you... Please say hello to your comrades for me...]

Even as its body turned to ashes and dissipated, Frokis spoke with a gentle smile. In the moments before its death, it recalled its memories.

"Goodbye, Frokis-chan. Next life... Next life... Well, thinking about the next life might be premature."

Shizuku tries to put on a sad expression as Frokis disappears into ash, when she sees the ash turning into sparkling white particles and getting sucked into Sakimori, Shizuku stares blankly.

Frokis's body completely turned to ash, and her cheeks swelled as a faintly glowing sphere, like a small firefly, got sucked in.

"Perhaps Frokis-chan would be suited for a body that chirps 'Hi-ho'. Sakimori-san, I'll leave the character creation to you, okay?"

"I sense some anger from Shizuku, but it's not my fault."

As they continued to chat, the dungeon turned into a rainbow, and Defending teleported back home using [Shadow Teleportation], while Shizuku vowed to make a snowman.
