Chapter 64.2. After The Typhoon

"If we cancel the tour just because we can't ensure safety, it'll become more of a play, won't it? There shouldn't be any major issues, so please continue. After all, the monsters that appeared after the typhoon are no match for Armed Shadow Tigers."

The number of monsters inside the dungeon has increased slightly, right? There shouldn't be any major problems. Right?

I glanced briefly at Shizuku, and she nodded. If Shizuku said it was okay, then it should be fine.

"The crops in the fields got washed away by the rain. It seems making them haphazardly didn't work."

"Ah... So just making furrows and planting won't cut it, huh? Weren't there any experienced farmers?"

"There are, but... When you look closely, they were all backyard gardeners."

I sighed as Shingen wore a frustrated expression. Backyard gardening experience might count as farming experience to some extent, but let's face it, backyard gardens often get messed up in a typhoon.

[If the typhoon were some big lucky charm monster, we could defeat it. The robot father from the Space Family would take care of it.]

The mischievous-looking beautiful girl giggled, but a typhoon as a monster, huh? I wonder how much that would save us in reality. There would probably be something like a Typhoon Response Team.

"We might have to start from scratch. Apart from the dungeon spawns, the typhoon wiped out the areas we sowed. That's the kind of thing that kills motivation the most."

It destroyed the crops we worked hard to nurture instantly. Even experienced farmers would find it tough. So for those who were growing crops for the first time this year, it wouldn't be surprising if it broke their spirits.

"Maybe we shouldn't just haphazardly make fields after all. What do you think? Should we make the fields haphazardly again?"

"Don't emphasize 'haphazardly.' Just 'make fields.' I don't want to make the same mistakes again. We have to build proper facilities. That's why I need people with carpentry skills."

I crossed my arms and looked around at everyone. If we'll increase the population further, I don't want to haphazardly build buildings anymore.

We needed houses and walls. Maybe we could build the fields in a way to protect against typhoons? Because the furrows were washed away, there had to be a more reliable method. As amateurs, we had our limitations.

"Daikuu, can AI help too? AI can build blocks!"

A young girl climbed onto my lap and raised her small hands, looking up at me. I smiled back at her and stroked her head, lost in thought.

"I don't intend to hire the carpenters who have been bossing around the people from the outer town with just one ration card. Those who scapegoat others and commit crimes..."

I had no intention of hiring them. It was different from clothing shops. Those who laughed and bossed around the outer town folks, even using them for demolition and then blaming them as criminals, were not people I wanted to hire.

My stern gaze was met with strong nods from the people around me.

Everyone shared the same sentiment. The children seemed not to have fully grasped the situation yet, though. No, not everyone. The cat girl had a nonchalant expression. It seemed Karin had joined us without me noticing.

"And if we do that, getting a carpenter will be impossible, right? Most construction companies in the Outer City are like that, and the folks in the inner town definitely won't come."

"Even if we start from scratch, we'll need a mentor... Someone with skills. Knowledge-based, perhaps? If we find someone with knowledge related to construction, we might manage somehow."

"Knowledge-based skills are rare. It won't be that convenient. Besides, do we need knowledge related to construction? We have the knowledge of humanity up until now."

"Maybe we can just go with something haphazard? If it breaks, we can build it again."

Shingen and Katsuyori exchanged opinions. Ooki-kun prepared tea.

That's right. Knowledge-related issues can be covered, probably for lower-level things. Even without plant knowledge, you can become a botanist, even without construction-related skills, a construction company president can still build a house. Skills aren't necessary for a carpenter to build a house.

Special skills like alchemy might be different. Even at low levels, the value would be different.

"How about I arrange for it-nyaa? I might be able to arrange for a few people-nyaa. I recently opened an office in the outer town-nya. It's called Kazama Detective Agency! I'll handle any requests-nya! Oh, here's my business card-nyaa."

With cat-like movements and a swaying tail, Karin smiled and danced around playfully. She casually placed her business card on the table.

Kazama Detective Agency, Director Kazama Karin, it read.

"That's right-nyaa~. How about a fee for one of those level 3 skill-up potions Sakimori obtained from dungeon clearing? Are you going to keep clearing dungeons? You can sometimes get them from dungeon cores, meow."

"And how much is that worth?"

You have to clear a Rank D dungeon for it, right? How many do you need to clear?

"Ah~. I wonder how much it was-nyaa~ Hya, was it around a million yen or so-nya?"

Of course, Karin understood the value perfectly and looked away with her eyes swimming. She's a liar.

I see. She knows the value of it. Well, that works out perfectly.

"Alright, that's fine. We'll be clearing more dungeons from now on. That potion? It seems like a pretty useful one."

"Oh, so is the contract established-nyaa~?"

I propped my chin up with my hand and grinned at the pleased cat girl.

"Yeah, that's right. But in return, introduce someone reliable to us. We'll also provide a motivated individual on our side."

Thanks, Karin. She taught me that you can get potions from dungeon cores. Let's extend our journey a bit and clear all the dungeons that aren't part of the tour.

Also, there's something else. I need a certain talent. A dwarf girl. She has the [Castle Wall] skill. I wonder if we can somehow get her as a subordinate.

I was interested in the [Castle Wall] skill after hearing about it from Shizuku.
