Seeker 90

Test

Chapter 90. Ability Verification And Status Confirmation

I looked down from the hill and directed my gaze towards the town ahead.

"Fortunately, I can see the town from here. We should head there for now. It's probably a better chance of survival than aimlessly wandering through the mountains. It seems that we've been granted language skills and other abilities. [Status Open]."

I opened my status.

And there it was, this.

Musou Daichi

Level: 25

Experience: 67445/78577

HP: 162/162

MP: 144/144

Strength: 24

Endurance: 27

[MP Up (Magic x 6)]

[Protection]

[Gaia Heal]

[Treasure Chest Drop x2]

[Three Srikes]

[Item Repair]

[Accuracy Enhancement]

[Ground Heal]

[Translation] (new!)

Remaining Skill Points: 0

A new skill, [Translation] had been added to my status.

That must be the language ability.

By the way, the required experience points for the next level had also been updated.

To level up, I needed, let's see... 11132 experience points.

My MP was also fully restored.

I had been somewhat exhausted when I reached that small room in the dungeon, so I appreciate it.

Anyway, the issue is the [Translation] skill.

I don't understand what effect this [Translation] skill has.

I wonder if there's a way to confirm it.

"Hey, Yuzuki. Are you good at English?"

"Yeah, English? Just leave it to me. [This is a pen!]"

"Hmm...?"

I heard Yuzuki's voice in somewhat broken English and Japanese as if it was dual audio.

Her mouth was saying, "This is a pen." but the voice I heard in my ears was "Kore wa pensu. (This is a pen).".

It was like when there was a simultaneous translation in Japanese for foreign interviews on TV.

If English sounds like Japanese, does that mean it's based on my native language?

Well, that doesn't matter.

"Kazane-san, did you understand what was just said?"

"Y-Yeah. I was surprised. Hotaru-chan's voice sounded like it was dual audio."

"Oh? I couldn't tell from my end. Hey, Senpai, could you try speaking in English?"

"Ah... [Can you speak English?]"

"[No, impossible!] Oh wow, it's true! That's interesting!"

It seemed that the skill wasn't translating what I said but what I heard specifically.

Perhaps it's an ability of the listener.

Our doubts remain about whether they'll understand our words. However, the three of us won't be able to verify it any further.

For now, let's move on to the next task.

"It seems we still can use skills like [Item Box]. But it's still a good idea to check our abilities thoroughly. Let's see if we can use our seeker abilities in this world. Yuzuki, could you try casting [Fire Bolt] randomly?"

"Understood! Here it goes, [Fire Bolt]!"

Yuzuki extended her staff and launched a fireball into the empty space. The fireball traveled a certain distance and then disappeared.

"Great, it seems like we can also use magic. Now, let's try moving around randomly."

I took a stance with my spear and thrust and swung it.

I also jumped and ran.

Kazane-san also swung her two short swords and performed acrobatic movements.

As a result, it became clear that our movements were characteristic of our seekers' ability.

Especially Kazane-san's movements were significantly different from those of an ordinary girl.

From what we've confirmed, it seemed we could use our seeker powers in this world.

Since the story involves fighting monsters, it wouldn't make sense otherwise.

Speaking of monsters, if there are monsters in this world, are they similar to the ones in the dungeon?

Do they disappear and turn into magic stones when defeated?

Anyway, let's move on to the next point of confirmation.

"Let's check our inventory. You guys, take out all the items from your [Item Box], please."

"Yes."

"Got it."

Upon rechecking the items and equipment inside their [Item Box], here's what we found:

Musou Daichi - Equipment:

Weapon: Corseque

Shield: Iron Shield

Body: Cuir Bouilli

Head: Leather Helm

Ring: Anti-Magic Ring

Kodachi Kazane - Equipment:

Weapons: Kris, Rune Kris

Body: Black Clothes

Head: Camellia Hairpin

Ring: Anti-Magic Ring

Yuzuki Hotaru - Equipment:

Weapon: Sorcery Staff

Body: Rune Robe

Head: Mage Hat

Ring: Poison and Paralysis Resistance Ring

Other Items:

Fenrir Bow

Kris

Poison Resistance Ring

Poison and Paralysis Resistance Ring

HP Potion x2

Antidote Potion x5

Paralysis Recovery Potion x2

High HP Potion

MP Potion

Pearl Of Return

Bento Box x3

Water Bottle (contains barley tea) x3

Snacks (1 bag of mini donuts, 1 bag of potato chips)

Picnic Sheet

Magic Stones

Gargoyle Magic Stone x12

Flame Skull Magic Stone x9

That should be all the resources we currently have.

Things like Japanese yen wouldn't be useful here.

As for consumable items, since we can use skills, they probably have some effect.

However, the Pearl Of Return, when I tried it, didn't seem to have any effect at all.

The issue with consumable items is that we can't replenish them.

As for the durability of the equipment, they shouldn't be at a level where they need immediate replacement.

While we can't use them indefinitely, it's not a top priority to worry about for now.

The top priority concern is.

"These homemade bento lunches by Kazane-san could become our lifeline in securing food. We should eat them carefully."

"But if we don't eat them soon, they might go bad."

"I'm starting to get hungry too."

"...It would be a waste if they spoil. Let's have lunch."

"""Yay!"""

Despite the potentially critical situation, we spread out the leisure sheet and calmly had lunch on the spot.

The [Item Box] doesn't seem to have any supernatural effects related to preservation.

It's similar to putting things in a backpack.

If they were to spoil, it would be a great loss for the carefully made bento by Kazune-san.

It's a matter of necessity.

Besides, we're going to eat it.

It shouldn't make much of a difference when we eat it.

By the way, Kazane-san and Yuzuki have been taking turns making bento for each of us every day recently.

It's greatly appreciated.

I did mention once it'd be fine for us to buy pre-made bento from a store since it's troublesome every morning.

But they replied, "If we get tired, we'll do that," and "Making bento is enjoyable right now," so I haven't mentioned it further and gratefully accept their daily efforts.

Huh, me cooking?

Well, I can cook, but compared to what they make, mine would likely be subpar.

It would be more like store-bought bento or something. I'm sorry. Kazane-san, Kazuki, thank you as always.

Also, the bento is always delicious and beautifully arranged.

Both of them seem to be quite skilled at cooking.

However, due to coming to this otherworld, it might be a while before we can enjoy such delicious meals again.

"""Thank you for the meal."""

We put our hands together as three and finished lunch.

It was delicious today too. Thank you, Kazane-san.

Now that we've confirmed our abilities and items and had our lunch.

It's time to start moving.

But before that, I'll quickly skim through the other pages of the guide for the Limit Break Event.

To truly grasp certain aspects, we need to experience them in this otherworld, but...

There was one section that caught my eye.

It's the "Mission List" page at the end.

───────────────────────

▼ Mission List

Reach a town with a population of over 3,000... Experience Points: 1,000

Register as an adventurer at the adventurer's guild... Experience Points: 1,000

Defeat 10 goblins (0/10)... Experience Points: 2,000

Clear an E-rank quest once (0/1)... Experience Points: 2,000

───────────────────────

For now, these are the only four items listed.

It seems that the missions will be updated regularly, so there may be more in the future.

Just by looking at each mission, there are many things to be curious about.

However, right now, survival is our top priority.

We can think about missions and leveling up once we have a stable living foundation.

After finishing tidying up, we prepared for departure, took one last look at the scenery from the top of the hill, and walked along the road leading to the town.
