Chapter 144.1. Saving The Druids!

In the vast grassland, Grandpa Odin stood with a bored expression, holding Mistilteinn in one hand. Mii-chan secretly watched from a hiding spot using [Hide].

In front of Grandpa Odin, petrified treants, who were once humans, were scattered all over the place.

The petrified treants had flowers growing from their heads with anguished human faces at the center, and some had their brains exposed, creating a horrifying sight.

I could see Saksara hiding beside Grandpa Odin using illusion magic. Since she became a Heroic Spirit and joined the party, her concealment had no meaning for Mii-chan.

Putting that aside, it's time for Odin's magic show to begin.

Grandpa Odin held up Mistilteinn and prepared to use it with a bored expression.

Nervously, Mii-chan held MP Recovery Potion II in her hand, preparing to use it.

[Let's use it then.]

[Yes!]

Mii-chan returned her consent through her thoughts, and Grandpa Odin used Mistilteinn.

"O Mistilteinn. Release the treants."

Mistilteinn begins to glow faintly, obeying Grandpa's will.

[Let's save the Druids!]

It's an event scene for a sub-quest. The same applied to the gods as well; they had the disadvantage of being like air. But precisely because it was a game specification, they have disadvantages. They can't escape battle.

But because of the game's specifications, they had abilities only they could use.

That's the sub-quest event.

How often do they occur? You know, like using a quest item, the Lava Staff, to suppress a volcano and such events

Although in battle, it would only produce a weak flame magic effect as an item, somehow in the events, it had an incredible effect.

After obtaining Mistilteinn, there was a subquest to save the people who turned into treants.

By mimicking that, Mistilteinn affected right on the mark.

Mistilteinn, when equipped, could use up to Earth Magic IV, but according to the flavor text, it was a spear that could manipulate plants too.

In the game, it could open overgrown ivies blocking paths or help save transformed humans like this in sub-quests.

I could do it in real life. When I [Use] Mistilteinn, it automatically destroys treants for me.

The difference is that the rescuer was slightly transformed into a treant and recovered in the game. But now, only the brain, a face on a flower, or a cyborg-like body part remained.

So treants crumbled, and the brains of the remaining people fell to the ground before quickly casting recovery magic without delay.

[Cure IV].

An angel appeared from somewhere, hitting the brain with fragments of stars. The body was formed within the light, returning to its original human appearance and falling.

[Sleep]

Frigg, who was hiding several kilometers away, quickly put them to sleep. Seeing the revived person breathing softly, Mii-chan felt relieved.

She planned to keep them asleep until everyone was healed so they wouldn't witness the recovery magic.

She unknowingly sweated, wiping it off and checking if she healed them.

They were sweating without knowing it. Sweat falls into her eyes, so she wipes them and checks to see if they have recovered.

[Are they alive?]

[Ye, yes. They're alive.]

Mii-chan felt relieved at Freya's words after appraising them.

[That's a relief. It seems this method is working well.]

The 9 heroes we helped earlier had high levels, so even with only their brains and spinal cords remaining, they had terrifying magical power and could survive for several tens of minutes. I wasn't too afraid of failure.

Well, I did think that it's really scary how even with just the brain and spinal cord, one doesn't easily die in the world of magic.

However, the people I helped this time are low-level. If I release the treant, they'll probably die in seconds. I was tense because if I failed, my attempt to help would kill them.

[Freya, please take care of the mind recovery.]

[Y-Yes. U-Understood!]

[Mind Cure]

I plan to cast [Swift Heal] and [Mental Healing] on the person I helped. Healing magic doesn't undo [Hide], so no one can see Mii-chan and Freya. By the way, Grandpa Odincasted Freya's [Hide].

[Alright, next one please!]

[Understood.]

I follow the same process as before and continue helping more people.

I open the MP Potions' lids and heal them while drinking them.

During this Tokyo expedition, I obtained numerous materials.

I've prepared many MP Recovery Potion II using those materials, which I distributed to Freya and Frigg.

A total of 300 potions. Although it was a valuable material, I can't replace human lives. I'll use most of them, but I can always acquire more materials.

Here, with the sole purpose of saving lives, Mi-chan spends the next few hours rescuing everyone, her ice-blue eyes shining with strong determination.

Exhausted, I'm relieved that even after drinking game-produced potions, my stomach doesn't feel bloated, and I cast the final recovery magic on the last person.

The last person gets up and looks at Odin with a bewildered expression. Those who were sleeping also woke up one by one, shaking or calling out to those still asleep.

Many people wake up and start paying attention to Odin. Then, Odin's Mistilteinn shines even brighter, like the last flame of a candle, before fading away into a rusty spear in the blink of an eye.

Nice Saksaara. Perfect timing.

With a bored glance, Odin casually tosses away the spear, or so it seems. In reality, he swaps it with the Rusty Fake Mistoltein in his item box and discards it.

"Um... Did you save us?"

As the leader or perhaps an older man calls out, Odin gestures toward the pile of clothes towering nearby.

Everyone hurriedly rushes to get their clothes and change. While still completely naked.
