Chapter 15.1. Mistake Was Made
Proficiency level reached 5. After endless battles, finally. It's already 16:00. It must be time to go home.
I can now use beginner-level Sacred Magic II. Well, the power doesn't change much. It's a matter of mood. A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, right? In the Beginner's Sacred Magic II, there is an Abnormality Recovery Magic I. It's not very effective, but I wanted it.
In the game, an abnormality state such as poison also has class from I to IV, right? We can only cure those abnormal states like poison with Abnormality Recovery Magic with the same level or higher. Incidentally, state abnormalities also include deficiencies. If an arm is missing, the game treats it as a seal. I think the game name should be Final Dragon World Tree Reincarnation.
I admire the production company that made this game. I guess money was more important than pride. The subtle changes they made to the system were also very bad.
My skill level is 5, which is enough for today's work. I level up by 1 from 4, though. The undead is hardly the pay for my experience.
A beautiful 9-year-old girl can't come to the dungeon every day. It would be better if I could go once a month. I wanted to earn as much as possible.
Mufu, Miu is smiling with satisfaction on her pretty face, and Yamiyo, soothed by her smile, pulls out a handkerchief from the pochette at her waist.
"Mii-sama. Let me wipe your sweat for you."
"Thank you, Yamiyo-chan."
Yamiyo wipes my puffy cheeks. "It's tickle," Miu laughed, and Yamiyo more and more soothed and loosened her cheeks.
Amid this soothing scene, another adventurer catches an enemy and raises his hand to signal.
I escape the Yamiyot's fluky attack and clutch my mace. It's time to finish.
"There are four skeletons!"
"It's almost the end, so why don't you two take them down?"
"Yeah, sure!"
If the [Fight] command is selected beforehand, there is no problem if an NPC joins the battle, as it got counted as my side hit. I have to deal with the damage first, though.
I have 5 MP left. I recovered 2 every hour with breaks, but I use Turn Undead and Recovery Magic. Can I use Turn Undead again this time? Turn Undead is AOE magic, so it's not a problem, but let's try ...... range magic.
"Yamiyo-chan, I'm going to try some ingenious recovery magic!"
"Ingenious?"
"Yes, I devised it!"
I lie with a smile to Yamiyo who tilts her head curiously. If I answered that I had learned it because I had improved my proficiency, I might get accused of playing too many games, or I might get taken to the hospital. I don't have a choice.
Originally, ranged recovery magic affects the entire party. However, when it got directed at the enemy as a ranged magic attack. Its range changed. The magic's effective range get displayed like normal because Yamiyo was not counted in my party.
It was a circular area, about 10 meters in diameter. I see it has the same specifications as in the game. So, magic is for the whole area, but ranged magic is for a circle. Memo note.
But the effect range changes depending on the magic's power. In the game, there are circular, fan-shaped, and straight lines, and the AOE of ranged magic is different in various ways. Maybe it is based on that.
At any rate, I use range recovery magic with my remaining MP. I want Yamiyo to defeat the coming enemy.
Ranged attacks usually can't use the enemy as a fulcrum, but they can if you lock them. Sometimes it is more convenient to use the locked state, so I used it differently.
Since this is my first time, I try to select a command to use range magic while considering the speed of the enemy's foot by manual operation. I hear the sound of crunching, and bony footsteps coming from the bottom of the hill, and I see the skeletons.
Boom!
And the skeletons get engulfed in fierce fire with a roaring sound. The wasteland gets engulfed in flames, and my prey is on fire. The old man was blown away by the aftermath of the flames.
"Gwagwagh!"
Confused, I imitate a duck's quack. Gwagwag. My prey.
"Sorry. Those skeletons were the ones we were chasing."
A voice came from the back of the room, a young boy's voice sounding but giving a rather rough impression.
The scouting adventurers are startled by this. They didn't notice that he was approaching, or else they would have failed to protect us.
"Who the hell are you!"
The captain of the guard shouts in anger. That's right. He's not that far from us. If the fire magic had been a little off. We would have been roasted chicken.
Amid the burning wasteland, a small boy wearing bright red magic armor appeared from the space behind the skeletons that were turning to ashes. He was wearing a cloak with some machine attached to it, which flapped in a flurry.
"You are not allowed to approach other families with [Cloak of Invisibility]!"
The captain modifies his tone somewhat but still does not hide his anger. The escorting adventurers also remain vigilant with their weapons at the ready.
The reason for the change in tone is the boy is a high-ranking noble, wearing expensive-looking magical armor. He's a boy with fiery red hair. He looks cocky, or young, but his face is contorted in a vile, ugly smile. He is a bad boy I can tell he must have had a bad education.
The magic armor looks expensive because the boy's magic armor covers his body. Cheap magic armor covers only the breastplate and not much of the skin. The armor used to cover the whole body costs a terrible amount of money. It is limited to men, though.
For women, it's not as expensive as it is for the more exposed parts. The author was not that bad. If it has a lot of jewelry or something on it, it's considered expensive.
"Well, excuse me. But you know what. You guys took the guy I was chasing. You're the one who's the worst."
Thinking that this guy was some hoodlum, I was astonished to see the boy distorting his face as if to cut his shoulder in an attempt to show his ferocity. Even if an ordinary 9-year-old is frightened, I won't be intimidated. Am I? Hmmm?
