Chapter 134.2. Return Home

The Next Day. With full mana and the stats obtained through adversity growth, I allocate them. Surprisingly, I had gained 300 points. The Crystal Golem seemed to be a formidable enemy.

Strength 100 → 150

Dexterity 100 → 200

Amano Shizuku

Mana 300 → 400

Stamina 300 → 400

Strength 300 → 400

Amano Yukihana

Mana 300

Stamina 400 → 500

Strength 400 → 500

Dexterity 400 → 500

Magic 300

Somehow, the stat points seem to be applied to everyone, and we all increased them individually. I wanted more mana, so I allocated some to strength, etc. Shizuku and Yukihana followed a standard allocation. Kou and Mike focused on Dexterity. Well, we've become a bit stronger.

I nibble on bread for breakfast while allocating the points in the living room. I still want more mana. Human desires are endless, huh? The little girl imitates me, moving her fingers in the air, and shaking her index finger like me. Her innocent behavior warms my heart.

"But, I'm often not here, and you usually sleep with Jun and the others, you know?"

"Yes! I understand! Sometimes I'll sleep at Sakimori-shan's house!"

She answers with a smile, swinging her legs and patting her feet, so I pat her head. I smile at the innocent sight while deciding on the next course of action.

"After breakfast, gather everyone for a board meeting. Oh, I'd like to take someone to the Chikuba Line Fortress, but I don't have any candidates."

Our lack of personnel is showing. I want to keep Katsuyori working at headquarters. I'll send some of Katsuyori's subordinates. People doing office work.

"First, let's transport diesel fuel. We can discuss the rest later."

Muttering that, I pour the remaining coffee over the bread.

Soon after, I gather the usual members: Shingen, Katsuyori, Ryuko, Baba, and Jun. Ooki-kun is the tea server.

I convey the fortress story to the assembled group in the conference room at headquarters. It's a pretty large community. It's bigger than ours, but the regions get spread out horizontally.

"But won't the diesel fuel purchase from the inner town become a large quantity?"

Shingen asks with a worried expression while rubbing his chin. The others nod in agreement. Yeah, that's true.

"And besides, I don't have money, President. We need to think of ways to earn it quickly."

Katsuyori asks with a troubled expression, and the others nod in agreement. Yeah, that's true.

"If a military person joins, I'll be fired, right? Let's keep it as a trading partner for now."

Ooki-kun asks if he'll get fired. While the others nod, and some don't. It seems there's a different opinion. But it doesn't matter much if Ooki-kun is fired. Don't fire him. We already have a shortage of personnel.

"Is there going to be an escort when moving? Kobolds and orcs appeared on the way there. We want to ensure safety on the transport route. Equipped with automatic rifles. Also, I plan to entrust the escort mission to the military person there."

Baba's question is answered with preparations for an automatic rifle. It's a dangerous place.

We need to thin out the population, but we can't touch the monster fortress. We'll probably have to take a detour to the north.

"So. I want to establish a base in the plains. How's the construction going?"

"With the power of the magic solution and my skill, the construction of a large apartment is complete. Also, repairing usable buildings without building new ones. We're almost done securing housing for all the residents of the base."

After hearing Tatsuko's report, I give the next instructions. Let's make fields little by little.

"Okay, if you can secure it, I want to build a base in the plains. Including fields. Can you do it? It doesn't have to be big at first. A base for about 100 people. But design it so it can be expanded. I want the residents of the fortress to work there."

With Tatsuko's report, I give the next instructions. Let's make fields little by little.

"I... understand. We also need to create irrigation channels using [Blocks]... by summer..."

"Okay. Then, let's move in that direction. The continuation will be at the fortress. The supplies there are quite skewed. Load the truck with food and transport diesel fuel. Let's get moving."

Acknowledged. Everyone stands up from their chairs, and it becomes a bustling scene.

"Oh, Jun. How about becoming an apprentice to the old man? I want you to be able to maintain cars."

"Car mechanic?"

We stop Jun, who is about to leave as always. We plan to recruit those who want to become mechanics, but I want Jun to remember that.

"Nowadays, there are no blacksmiths, so a mechanic. It's a job that fits the times, right? We plan to keep the old man, Nambu, stationed at headquarters for a while. If negotiations go well."

Jun hesitates and looks at Hana and the others, but soon nods.

"I understand! I'll do my best!"

"I'm counting on you. It'll be a big help."

Relieved, I pat his head. If Jun, who has the [Metal Processing] skill, he can do maintenance, it'll be a big help.

"Then, Ooki-kun, go transport supplies to the fortress."

"Eh! Me?"

"Of course. Who else is going to go?"

Apart from Baba's unit, Ooki-kun has his own unit. It's natural to give him the escort mission. Why is he surprised?

"Well then, let's go back to the fortress."

I prepare to head to the fortress while grabbing Ooki-kun by the nape of his neck.
