Twilight Alchemist 11.2

Test

11.2. Mischievousness Can Sometimes Be Dangerous, As The Saying Goes

"This one's good!"

Jitaro swung his machete vigorously. It seemed dangerous.

Near the village, Jitaro was happily cutting branches in the forest's entrance.

"Let me see... Yes, the blade isn't dull. It seems to have become even harder than I imagined."

"Not just hard, but you can feel the unique resilience of iron!"

"It seems that way. If it's just hard, it would break easily like glass."

Jitaro repeatedly struck the machete into thick branches, reveling in the act of cutting them off.

"Alright, onto the next one."

"Huh? Isn't this enough?"

"No, I have another thing prepared. Jitaro, coat the blade with this."

What I took out was oil in a small bottle.

Of course, it was different from the Hard Forging Oil from earlier.

"Rust prevention?"

"Well, try it out."

"Okay."

Jitaro coated the blade with oil using a rag and swung the machete down on a thick branch, just like before.

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

The kukri knife swung down by Jitaro cut through the branch effortlessly, without any resistance, and plunged into the ground with a satisfying sound.

"Whoa!"

"Whoa! That was close!"

"A-Are you okay!?"

Jitaro, who had put all his strength into the swing, staggered and almost fell.

"I'm fine! But that was surprising."

"This might be the Sharpness Oil?"

"As expected of the Guild Master."

"Don't tease me, Craft-kun."

"Sorry."

I apologized instinctively.

Yeah, I kind of understood how the Guild Master in the town I used to live in felt.

Leafan's smile was scary.

"This oil is called Sharpness Oil, used to sharpen blades. I should have appraised it first."

"Sorry, I wanted to surprise you a bit."

"I was surprised enough."

"I'm too. I'm glad there was no injury."

"Haha. Next time, explain first, okay?"

"Yeah. I promise."

But really, who would have thought you could effortlessly cut through a thick branch like cutting through the air?

"Well, once you get used to it, it's a piece of cake. This is incredibly good!"

"I'm glad it's useful."

"Useful? If we give this to the lumberjacks, they'll cheer!"

"How long does the effect last?"

"Normally, over a day. For lumberjacks, it might be half a day."

"Even with this small bottle, if we apply it to all the tools in the village, it should last for a week."

"Because you only need to apply it."

"Can you produce a lot of this?"

"We have enough magic stones for now, but we'll need to go monster hunting soon to avoid running out. We also use it for other things."

"Let's discuss that later with everyone."

"Agreed."

"Wow! With this, goblins are nothing to fear!"

Unless a miracle happens, and goblins start wearing magical armor, one strike should be enough.

It would tear through wooden armored weapons like paper.

"Alright. Let's have Jitaro test it for a while, and if it's good, we'll use it on other weapons and farming tools."

"Sounds good."

"I'm counting on you!"

Later on.

As the Sharpness Oil became popular, Alphard was screaming.

"What is this sharpness!"

"Incredible... Is this almost like a magical sword?"

The training dummy got splendidly dismembered into a massacre.

"...It's a shame to use it for practice."

"Yeah."

"You overdid it, Craft-kun."

It's not intentional!

However, farm work and logging became significantly more efficient, and we received applause and cheers. That's a different story.
