Chapter 302.2. Soul To Soul
-???'s POV-
"No... Noo...."
Helheim of Death struggled to find words, but her lines wouldn't come out of her voice. What flickered in her field of vision was terribly frustrating.
"Well, well. In that case, I'll forcibly recover it. With that tattered appearance, you don't have the power to oppose me anymore."
As Spatial Witch removed her hood, she revealed a beautiful yet cruel face with jet-black long hair, cold gray eyes, and twisted lips that looked down upon others. She exuded an air of beauty mixed with cruelty.
"How about it? You, who used your power externally, may look like a monster, but I used my power within. Doesn't the current me have a suitable appearance to become the god of this world?"
She smirked, lifted her hair with a pleased expression, and praised herself as Spatial Witch. She used to have a half-rotten face, so this transformation was a drastic change.
"It was already decided that I, with my beauty, would become the dominant personality. Monstrous Helheim of Death."
Spatial Witch spoke boastfully, apparently having had a complex about her appearance.
Raising her right hand with its beautiful white skin, she made it shine like gold.
"Goodbye, Helheim of Death. I will make use of your power."
[Soul Steal]
Spatial Witch's right hand turned into a translucent astral body and plunged into Helheim of Death's dovetail without hesitation.
A strong shock ran through Helheim of Death's body, and she realized her demise.
"No... Noo.. AAaaa.. Impossible."
"Don't worry. I will fully open the door to our original world and retrieve the power you left behind."
Spatial Witch sneered. She seemed to be dreaming of a successful world ahead.
It's futile. It's all futile.
Helheim of Death tried to muster her strength to speak, but no words came out.
She understood the reason for this.
The translucent, mysterious board that appeared before her was conveying it.
[But there was no response. Just a mere obstacle.]
Having been defeated by that, she was now even restricted from communicating her will. No matter how many times she tried, it was futile.
[But there was no response. Just a mere obstacle.]
This repetitive message was getting in the way.
Why didn't she notice it?
She thought it was just an ornament.
She thought it was just a landscape.
That's why... If she couldn't speak the words, she had to convey her thoughts. She mustered her last ounce of strength and tried to send her thoughts.
She used to be alone. Even if they had a falling out, they could still communicate through thoughts.
Believing so, she gathered her fading will and sent her thoughts.
[Don't open the gate to that world!]
It was just one sentence, but Helheim of Death poured all her power into it.
She thought Helheim of Life would finally understand, but as she looked at her other half, she realized.
"Goodbye, the other me. This is the end."
No thought had reached her at all. Her face was unperturbed, unchanged from before.
Helheim of Death, despairing of why, looked into Spatial Witch as she faded away fleetingly and understood.
"aH We'Re tHe sA..."
Unable to speak her final words, Spatial Witch absorbed Helheim of Death, and her existence disappeared.
Spatial Witch tightened her grip, pleased with her greatly increased power.
"Now, I have no more losses. Thank you for your efforts, Helheim of Death. From now on, I..."
She tried to take a step, but her body stumbled.
"Hmm... It seems it will take some time to assimilate her power. Well, I need to make my final preparations as well. Until then, I'll hide."
Looking up at the sky with a refreshing smile, she spread her arms and whispered without addressing anyone.
"Ah... the world is so beautiful. This world is wonderful. A world brimming with power. Everything is all mine."
She started walking again, smiling slyly.
"Just one more step. Just one more step, hehehe."
With that, she murmured, and her figure disappeared, leaving only the quietness, with the chirping of birds, returning to the scene.
