Chapter 258.1. Game Specific Saint Is Amazing
In the frozen world, Mii-chan's breath turned white.
"So cold. Is it mid-spring in the heart of winter? Feels a bit different."
Even though there might be a good analogy, I stopped thinking about it and continued walking in the icy world, making small crunching sounds with each step.
In the blue world dominated by the silence of a lifeless existence, Mii-chan's footsteps were the only ones echoing, lonely and crisp, creating loud thumps.
"Running out of the -Fight- command is Mii-chan's weakness, right?"
Rubbing her head in pain, she crawled out of the hole in the wall that had opened up to a girl's shape.
"What should I do... Should I do it before going outside?"
Looking up at the sky, I saw a clear blue sky without a single cloud. The dungeon had collapsed neatly, leaving behind a large hole that looked like a massive meteor had crashed.
Moreover, the walls were covered in ice, and extremely cold air turned into mist.
"I had no idea there was an ice dungeon in a place like this."
This ice probably won't melt. There are snowy forests around Lake Biwa, and maybe it'll become a new tourist attraction.
I decided to divert my gaze and avoid facing reality for now. After all, there were more pressing matters at hand.
Taking Elizabeth's 'charred corpse' out of my item box, I casually dropped it on the ground without caring about the ash that flew up.
I sat down cross-legged, and let out a sigh.
"Kiri-ri. Well, should I use Saint's [Resurrection]?"
[Resurrection] a recovery magic, which only a Saint could use. Whether I could use this magic in reality was uncertain.
It's not the kind of magic I can try out recklessly. If there were a resurrection magic that could truly bring someone back to life, it would be a big deal.
But not using it when the time is right would be counterproductive. Elizabeth had a reason to receive [Resurrection], even if it was just because she got involved with Mii-chan. We could be called fellow victims, but Mi-chan felt a tinge of guilt.
If it fails, I'll give her a grand funeral, so may she rest in peace.
She had to resurrect her before someone came to check on the situation. With a slightly serious expression. I calmed herself and let the magic power flow through her body.
Pure white magical energy flowed out from Mii-chan's body like mist.
When activated, it would be the ultimate resurrection magic that would revive anyone except the comrades blown away in the bar. Even if reduced to a speck of dust, it was a powerful ally in the game that could restore things to their original state.
To revive Elizabeth, I activated Saint's best magic.
[Resurrection]
The resurrection magic from the game activated, and the effects of angels descending onto the corpse were about to happen, or so I thought.
"Huh? What's this?"
Just as I thought it had activated the magic, I saw darkness enveloped the world. Panicking, I looked around, but there was no icy world, ground, walls, or even a ceiling.
I was floating in the air yet seeming to stand on solid ground, a world with an unstable, peculiar feeling as if anchored in zero gravity.
Then, threads of light like the Milky Way emerged from below, creating a woven tapestry of light in the darkness.
"Wow... so beautiful..."
I was so captivated by the mystical scene that I lost my words. The sight before my eyes resembled capillaries made of light. Everything around me was inundated with threads of light, or rather, threads of gold.
The golden threads emitted light in the darkness, illuminating the surroundings. Upon closer inspection, the golden threads pulsed, coming together to form thick trunks or infinitely transforming into thin, long branches.
"This... is it the threads that compose the world?"
I felt like she had seen it somewhere before. But I decided to forget it, as it was a faint memory.
I chuckled at my confusion.
While I was gazing at the pulsating golden threads flowing like a river, I noticed luminous spheres nestled amidst the complex interweaving of the golden threads.
I saw countless glowing spheres entwined with golden threads, much like bountiful fruit on a tree during a good harvest.
Without needing to think, Mii-chan instinctively understood what they represented.
"That is the soul. The soul of every living being..."
Bathed in gentle golden light, I let out a sigh.
"I see. [Resurrection] is a magic that forms the body around this glowing sphere's core."
Amazed by this mysterious spectacle, Mii-chan shaded her eyes with her hand.
"Isn't it weird that there's no golden thread around Mii-chan? Please don't bully Mii-chan."
For some reason, darkness surrounded Mii-chan. While golden threads filled other places, a vacant space remained around her.
Glancing around nervously and finding no one else except herself, Mii-chan moved sideways with soft shuffling sounds and reached out toward the golden threads.
Mii-chan wanted golden threads around her. Just a little bit would be fine, right?
"Carefully... if I move the threads gently, I shouldn't get caught."
Mii-chan delicately grasped the threads, entwining them around her body. This might be my graduation from being the mob character. I was about to change the fate of Miu from a side character to a protagonist. Hehe.
Snap, snap.
"Oh no, it tore apart! It's as soft as cotton candy!"
Despite its sturdy appearance, it tore apart easily. What should I do? What should I do?
Panicking and flustered, I somersaulted to calm myself down.
Phew, maybe I did something bad. Wiping the sweat off my forehead, I composed myself and looked at the cotton candy in my hand, recalling how to handle situations like this.
"Someone important said that if no one sees you, it's as if you didn't do anything!"
Exhaling with a huff, I shoved the evidence, the cotton candy, into my mouth. Munch, munch, gulp.
It was incredibly sweet and fluffy! Just like the finest soft-serve ice cream! So delicious!
Unbelievable. Once the threads were in my mouth, a gentle sweetness and a velvety texture spread, making my body tingle with delight.
I was so impressed that such a thing existed. Hooray for the magical world. It was truly wonderful to be able to eat this. My cheeks were practically melting, and I thought, just one more bite, right? I chewed and swallowed.
It should be fine to take just one more bite, right? Just a little bit. There's so much of it. They won't find out, they won't find out.
