Chapter 95. Redeeming Magic Stones
I went to the magic stone purchasing counter and presented 1 Gargoyle's magic stone and 1 Flame Skull's magic stone to the receptionist.
"These 2 magic stones, how much would you offer for each of them?"
"These are the two types, I see. Please wait a moment while I check."
The receptionist used a magnifying glass to look into the magic stones.
The receptionist used a tool resembling a magnifying glass to examine the magic stones.
In the world we came from, Gargoyle's magic stone had a purchase price of 7,500 yen per piece, and Flame Skull's magic stone was valued at 9,000 yen per piece.
The purchase price of magic stones in our world was determined by the Power stored within the stones.
For example, a Kobold's Magic Stone had a Power of 4. So it was worth 400 yen.
A Killer Wasp's magic stone with a Power of 20 was valued at 2,000 yen.
Therefore, Gargoyle's magic stone had a Power of 75, and Flame Skull's magic stone had a Power of 90.
Although I hadn't fully grasped the cost of living in this world yet, based on the prices I saw at the stalls before coming to this Adventurers' Guild, I could assume that one copper coin was worth around 100 yen, and one silver coin was worth around 1,000 yen.
Considering that, the expected purchase price for Gargoyle's Magic Stone and Flame Skull's Magic Stone would be.
"Well, these are both quite high-level magic stones. We can offer 7 and a half silver coins for this, and 9 silver coins for the other. May we proceed with the purchase?"
That's right on target.
With this amount, it should be fine for me to sell them.
"Alright, I'll sell them all to you."
I presented all the magic stones I had.
There were 12 Gargoyle's magic stones, and 9 Flame Skull's magic stones.
The receptionist's eyes widened upon seeing them.
"Th-these are magic stones of this level, and so many of them...!? I don't need to ask where you got these. Ah, no, I need to confirm if they are genuine."
The receptionist calmly inspected the magic stones using the magnifying glass.
After finishing the inspection, she placed the coins on a tray and handed them to me.
"Thank you for waiting. The total purchase price is 17 gold coins and 1 silver coin."
There were 17 golden coins and 1 silver coin.
Assuming one gold coin is worth 10,000 yen should be reasonable.
I accepted the coins and thanked the receptionist before leaving the counter.
Then, I gathered with Kazane-san and Yuzuki, taking a deep breath of relief.
"Well, it seems we have enough living expenses for now."
"Daichi-kun, that's amazing...!"
"Yeah. You're unexpectedly reliable in these situations, Musou-senpai."
"'Unexpectedly' is unnecessary."
I lightly tapped Yuzuki's head with a flick.
She stuck out her tongue and made a mischievous face.
Well, I guess I also think to myself, "Wow, I'm doing pretty well.", but my heart still races with each thing I do.
With this money of around 170,000 yen, we shouldn't have trouble with living expenses for a while.
The next step is securing future income.
According to the information I received from the receptionist at the general counter, adventurers primarily earn income by completing quests.
While the magic stone exchange is part of their income, it's not enough to live on normally.
We don't quite understand this concept, but since the locals say so. It must be true.
Judging from the reaction of the person at the magic stone exchange counter. It might be rare to obtain a large number of high-value magic stones.
A quest refers to the work assigned to adventurers.
If we accomplish the assigned task, we'll get the specified reward.
It would be easier to understand if we tried it out.
We headed towards the quest bulletin board as instructed by the receptionist.
