Chapter 76.2. The First Year at the Academy - Into the Unexplored Forest (2)

Chapter 76.2. The First Year at the Academy - Into the Unexplored Forest (2)

A few days passed, and I learned [Double Strike].

But right after that, I also learned [Two-handed Sword 1].

I was so happy, but Valerie said, "What is wrong with you?"

Markant accepts it with a smile.

Unbeknownst to Valerie, I also secretly got taught [Wind Slash]. As expected, I couldn't learn it, and I'm glad I did.

Thanks to the two of them, I could learn basic offensive skills.

However, it is too early to be relieved.

The mock battle with the [Strong Strike] ended with me getting blown away.

I tried several times, but I couldn't win. Without using [High-speed Movement] and [Strong Strike], it would have been a good match.

The reason I lost was because of the difference in skill level.

The activation speed was so different that no matter how I tried, I always lost. The road is hard.

And the day finally came not long after I had mastered [Double Strike].

Stopping out of nowhere, I hold out a leather bag.

"The quality is the same as before, but I mixed in some more blood."

"Oh, that's great. I'll take it gratefully."

As he accepts, Markant has a smile, which is unusual for him.

Beyond the south gate, at the end of the street, Ted and the others gathered and looked up sadly at the "Battle Axe of Destruction".

Today, more than a month after their return to Selene, they went out.

"It's going to be longer this time."

"I know. That's why I've prepared more."

It was obvious they were going along with my growth.

If it hadn't been for the [Strong Strike] and intermediate-level talk. They'd left Selene much sooner.

Maybe I wanted to stall them because we talked about many things.

"Don't take it too hard."

"Of course - I'd like to say, but I won't know until I get there."

Ted and the others looked at each other anxiously at this out-of-character remark.

Noticing this, Markant patted them on the head.

"We're going to the forest of the Deep Temple. It's a long way south from here. It's an adventurer's goal."

" Adventurers' goal......?"

Ted and the others listen to Markant and the others with the eyes of adventurers.

There were places that many adventurers staying in the Arsis Empire had set their sights on.

The Labyrinth of Derrick and the Forest of the Deep Temple.

The Labyrinth of Derrick is located in the western part of the empire, it's on the Mez Riez region's border. It was known for producing a wide variety of magical tools and attracted many adventurers as a labyrinth that did little harm to the surrounding area.

The Forest of the Deep Temple is a forested area that stretches to the empire's southern part. Powerful monsters haunt every time one enters, and even dragon species live there. It is an unexplored forest that no one has ever ventured through, and the deepest part known to man is said to be comparable in danger to the Dragon's Nest in Mez Riez, the Land of the Dead led by the "Mad Emperor of a Hundred Crimes," and the Great Labyrinth of Saneem.

I knew that they would eventually go there.

It was not only out of concern they volunteered to escort me to Selene. It was because they saw a goal beyond that.

Remembering those days, I turned to Danil.

"Speaking of which, did you get the magic book you dug up?"

After a pause, Danil smiled.

"You remember it well. I wanted a snipe type, but I couldn't find it even at the right price."

"Hmm - sorry about that."

I activate [Penetrate Gale].

An invisible arrow takes flight, and for a few moments, a headless bird falls.

Everyone is surprised at the suddenness of it, but Danil realizes what I've done and suddenly bursts out laughing.

"When did you learn [Penetrate Gale]?"

"By accident. The trick is to use "Wind Bolt" endlessly and be more conscious of its accuracy. I skipped Shooting Spear type, so it might be an anomaly."

"I'll give it a try. I don't have a lot of magic, so it will be moderate."

"It won't be in vain. Nothing goes to waste."

Danil and I laugh at each other.

Markant seems to see what we're talking about, and he looks aghast.

"Intermediate magic on your own ...... and two of them? You are that guy."

"One was thanks to Danil. The other was completely by accident."

"And don't forget my [Strong Strike], okay? Well, We'd better get going. I'll be back at least once before you graduate. Five years, right?"

I'm a little troubled by the question.

"Maybe - three years. Five years would be too much trouble."

"Okay. Two years and a bit. Next time I see you, I'll bring you a dragon's head as a souvenir."

Markant beat his thick chest and assured me.

Valerie and the others advance as soon as the conversation is over.

"[Double Strike] is a lower skill. Alter-sama should be able to gain greater power. Please do not miss your training."

"Magic, too. It is now systematized, but in the old days, people created it by trial and error. It's a good idea to try things like the [Penetrate Gale]."

"You can still develop your scouting skills. You should continue training in that area as well."

"Wait a minute, don't say all at once. I have too much to do."

I was so inspired by Valerie and the others that I blew it out of the water.

Inspired by Valerie and the others, Markant grew impatient.

"Then me too! Let's see......."

He clapped his hands.

"That's it, real combat! Fight anyway, real combat is the best training!"

"That's right, though. It's just like you."

Come to think of it, it was in search of real combat that I met them.

Back then, I didn't know the standards of this world, and I was trying to become as strong as possible.

Or is it still the same now?

My world is only Reedwald and Selene.

How strong were the strong people I met?

The half-crying Ted and the others and the "Battle Axe of Destruction" exchanged farewells.

I look at them, listening to their unspoken voices.

The strong man I know best - what will be the outcome?

Whatever the outcome, I only hope they return safely.
